Default Did Santa bring you anything baseball related?

My wife picked me up all the back issues of Old Cardboard. Pretty excited. Did anyone else get anything baseball related?

This is a great choice, imo. Kids are the best. Them being happy (well, as happy as can be) is what it's all about. You da' man, Johnny.....and more importantly your kids love you and you put them first. I truly wish every parent did the same.

Default xmas

I was also able to pick up the Old Judge book and Old Cardboard back issues....great stuff. I had to pick them up for relatives and let them pay me back...otherwise I would have received socks and underwear

As for any actual cardboard. I don't ask for any for christmas because I grab so many throughout the year and mainly just buy for the kiddos...that's what christmas is about, right?

Great story, I bet your wife's heart sank when she realized that of course the dog would find the one not so easily replaced gift. I'd keep it as is.

All I knew was something happened and she wasn't happy. I'm smart enough to stay away and not pry too much. Besides, if I found out I think we wouldn't have a dog anymore.

Default A Most Excellent Baseball Kind of Christmas!

A mix of vintage and recent history. Three books (courtesy of my son and my daughter's boyfriend):

A couple of Old Judges off the want list (thanks Santa Jay and Santa John) and a beautiful framed cover of the New York Post with our actual seat tickets (courtesy of my son-in-law) commemorating our attendance at the record-breaking event!

Hi All - been awhile since I posted

This year, Santa, who had a striking resemblance to my girlfriend, knew I liked "old baseball stuff," and picked up this little thing for me:

She had it framed and gave it to me - it's modern and it looks like a ball player screened over a page from a dictionary (starting with "Lutheran" and ending with "lying" - go figure ). Anyway, it's pretty darn cool and it's going up in my sports room

My parents did the same for me - awsome!

Also got books..."Chief Bender's Burden" and "Forever Blue".

And my lady got me two Mitchell & Ness replica jerseys (flannels) including a 1918 WS jersey of Babe Ruth.

Cheers,
Blair
