Default January 2011 Pickup Thread

Usually these threads get started with something impressive...but I thought I would start 2011 off with a whimper. Thanks Rhett for the worst card ever! (I knew it was the worst before receiving it).

Nice McTitus

That Zeenut looks like it might be an old Modoc spear tip Rhett found up there in Shasta County. I'd have it carbon dated. Might be valuable.

I am very happy to have landed this Tolstoi Eddie Collins last night on ebay. After looking for a long time and talking to you folks, I did not think this card was really out there. I am pretty sure it just down to the American Beauty now, sure hope a BL 350 doesn't pop up next week!
Thanks to some folks that took it easy on me with this card!
Bob

Default my first 1933 Goudey...

I've long appreciated Lefty O'Doul and can't for the life of me understand why he isn't in the Hall of Fame...and this is my favorite card of him. Considering I had about $38 in eBay Bucks, this one only cost me about $50. I'm pretty pleased...

Default my latest pick me ups

I've found that slabbing, scanning and posting my cards online has re-invigorated my collection and helped me get organized (2011 goal alert!)

These cards have been buried in a box all year, but now they are among my favorites. check out these well-loved HOFers!!

I haven't looked too hard at exhibit cards until I picked these up last week from a local card shop. Not in the best condition, but I like the rarity.........Matt
