Default SCP Winnings

The lack of an extended bidding clock at SCP is frustrating. Part of the fun for me is watching the clock get low and I'm high bidder and I'm about to win...... .and then it resets again. Wife thinks its crazy but once I see it get below a minute I get an adrenaline kick, nervous sweaty palms...this is a big part of the hobby I enjoy.

Watching a max bid get chipped away at isn't enjoyable and holding off blindly to see what goes down in the late hours is risky.

This isn't fun.

Except in this case the objective of the game is to lose money.

I can't believe the yankee stadium seat sold for $2,700 and it was in horrible shape. Should have bought it when it sold at a local auction for only $600, lol

I wonder if that Red Hindu Murphy allowed somebody to complete their back run? I hope it didn't end up elsewhere.

Best,

Andy

Default T210 Jackson

I think the T210 Jackson card went kind of low - $96K??

I was thinking more along the lines of $120-130K.

Just my opinion.

Tony

Jamie, it was hard to watch for both of you guys. The Donlin & Chance went very strong as well.

I'd like to see some winnings, haven't received confirmation email yet.

I felt the same way. I was watching those two cards and I had a lump in my throat. First thing I did this morning was log in and look.

Sorry to hear you didn't get it, Jamie. I hope that another surfaces when the owner reads about what this one sold for.

The WaJo Red Hindu went for less then I thought, if I had that kind of scratch I would have jumped all over it.

Thanks Al... the only thing I can think of is some guy with serious cash was looking to complete a redhindu subset... and didn't care about literally pissing away $40K between the 2 cards.. the bidder logged in again at 3am and started again bidding on the Seymour and the murphy....

if both of those cards sold together they would go for around $3K..

they just sold for a combined $43K!.. wish I didn't care about losing $40,000 on a purchase... maybe it was the new powerball $500million winner out of long Island NY.

Default Because I passed on the REA Red Hindu Johnson

I was happy to pick up the WaJo in this auction. I was an underbidder on the REA one earlier this year (http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/.../2012/161.html) -- that one had a cleaner back, the SCP has better registration but the wrinkle at the top.

Either way, I'm happy.

I didn't enjoy waiting up until 5am to see the auction end. That pisses me off...the least they could do is that the "most recent bids" feature that REA has so we could all follow along on the items with action. I am strongly in favor of auctions with individual lot clocks. I understand, however, that the current "one clock" method favors the auction house and they are reluctant to give up that additional revenue.

A side note, I was the underbidder on The Simpsons cel inscribed to Ozzie...it would have been a great talking piece, but there are so many other Simpsons animation cels available for much less that I didn't want to rationalize it to my wife. haha.

Have a good one,
Steve

I hear you Adam, as soon as I saw the SCP pic for the auction when they were raw and then the board figured out the confirmed list I knew I had to go for this card. It's been on my list since I first started collecting, it went one bid under my max and looks like I did get it
