Default Mantle's card collection

I recently won a 1958 'Mantle owned by Mantle', hoping to display it along with a 1950's Mantle autograph (at some point).

Someone asked me how I know that it was owned by Mantle. Good question (I accidentally typed "God question", but THANK GOD I caught the mistake ).

I did some googling and only found four cards with this SGC sub-line - one was a Feller. Does anyone have a list of the cards included in his collection? (or know how to find one). I checked the SGC website and could not find anything.

I found the following in an auction description of Mantle's '56 Feller:

"While baseball cards of Mickey Mantle are among the most sought after sport collectibles of our time; few people realize that the legendary New York Yankee also maintained his own small collection of vintage cards himself. Mickey Mantle had originally planned to display his cards to promote the opening of his new Mickey Mantle Restaurant in New York City. Mantle opted instead to maintain a private display at his suite at the New York Regency Hotel on Park Avenue for the enjoyment of close friends and associates; eventually gifting them to his business partner thus providing this rare opportunity to own a very small number of select baseball cards that were once owned by the “Mick” himself! It is especially interesting to see “who” Mantle collected cards of as they represent some of his closest peers and most talented players of his time."

(This is not advertisement, as I have no intention of selling the card).

Scott nice pickup. I was high man at $900 or so and bowed out after that.
There are other "owned by Mantle" cards that I see now & then. I've seen the '52 Topps sell a couple of times.
And also saw a Billy Martin, though I'm not sure if it was a '52. I'm thinking 1956.
The Martin & another were sold via a smaller auction house maybe 2-3 years ago.
Was outbid on them both. I'm hoping more surface.
To get a complete listing, contact SGC as it should take them a few seconds to come up w/ the list on their Mantle pedigreed cards.

Scott, I am almost positive that I remember a Goudey Gehrig and Ruth with the same provenance in one of the Auction Houses within the last couple of years. I can't remember which one though. I believe the '52 Topps Mantle card was in the same auction. I could be wrong though.

Hey! That's the card I sent to Mantle that he never returned. Give it back!

Actually, I heard Mantle had very strange sexual fetishes. It's probably best you keep the hard inside the plastic.

I swear that was just a typo caused by dim evening lighting at my computer.

Here is a link to the Goudey Gehrig. http://www.legendaryauctions.com/Lot...ntoryid=154985

Search Legendary results "owned by mantle" and there are several lots in their
November 2011 and February 2013 auction.

I have had some great conversations with Bobby Richardson about Mantle. He said that Mickey hated getting TTM requests and would always open them and keep the cards! Bobby said that during the 60's Mickey showed him a closet in his apartment in NY full of cards and other items sent to him!
