Default Wow!

What I find amazing is that this card was waiting in the wings for someone to eventually get graded......or I guess it could have been a PSA or SGC 9 re-submit.

A thing of beauty, just like Sandy's arm.

Thanks for sharing,

Peace, Mike

PS I actually have a 1955 Topps wax pack graded a 4.5 for some rips and holes but it is labeled as the Koufax series so hopefully someday that pack yields a card in the middle just like this! I know.......dream on!

Smile You know ...

I am really out of tune with my hobby! I see a card like this and my first thought is ... OMG, what an abomination! I don't see a desirable card. I see a horrifically, undesirable one.

Why? No, it's not price (although those are carzy in my opinion). No it's because I think ... what would it have taken to get a card like this all these years later? Answer: A freak of a kid who did not play with or enjoy cards, or someone who has destroyed card history by cutting apart an uncut sheet. In either case, the back story on the card is such that I would never want it in my collection.

Sheldon Cooper can keep his cards. I'll go after the ones that Indiana Jones collected.

An absolute beauty, but would love to hear the story behind it!

Or a 1955 Topps pack that remained unopened all of these years until some profiteer opened it up and sent in the Koufax card only to entomb it once again, it is now in a clear holder to be seen by it's admirers.

I guess that I'm a weirdo because I have lots of unopened packs from the 50's and 60's. Maybe the pack before contained the last card he needed for his set, so he didn't want to open a pack that would have all duplicates.
