Default Lets See Those Player Collections!

As of late I have been a tad obsessed with Reggie Jackson as I am reading a biography on him and have watched the Reggie Yankeeography. He was my favorite player as a kid, so I am kinda rediscovering him. Been thinking about picking up some Reggie pieces aside from baseball cards.

I would love to see your player collections here. If you have any Reggie stuff, show them off too.

Time to drool.

Mike

Some great collection guys. That Gehrig collection is impressive. This Yankee fan was drooling on his keyboard.

Love that Orr collection also. The Kaline card collection is very nice!

Hey Mike, I don't really collect any one player. Nonetheless, here are my favorite Reggie items. I have all the cards but this stuff is much more fun at least in my modest opinion. The last image is a Phillipe Halsman original photo http://philippehalsman.com/ . Its funny that I hated him as a kid but remember him fondly as an adult. Maybe I miss the swagger in my advanced age?

Wow, I am seeing some awesome Player collections. Thanks so much for sharing guys.

Mike, I love the Reggie stuff. Its on my Holy Grail list to one day own a Game 6 ticket stub. Is that a Game Used bat?? Wow!!

Big Red Machine, Great Johnny Bench collection

Paul- Love the Christy Matthewson stuff!

Adam, Loved what Al Rosen did for my Yankee teams of the 70's. Great collection BTW.

Johnathan, any time I see a Scooter or Mantle collection it makes this die hard Yankees fan smile.

Keep those collections coming. I love seeing them.

Mike

Nice ticket! I'll tell you a funny story. My daughter works for an airline so I get to fly standby. Earlier this year I saw that Reggie was signing in San Francisco. Flying standby is a nightmare on a Saturday. To ensure I got there I went to the airport at 5 am with my bat and ticket in hand. TSA told me that I could check the bat with the stewards as long as it was in a cardboard tube. I waited in the security line for an hour only to be told I would have to check the bat as luggage. I missed flight #1. I then waited to check it for another hour and missed flight #2. Once I got to the agent they told me that there were 4 people on standby ahead of me. This meant after I checked the bat if I was bumped from the flight I had voluntarily separated from my luggage. If this happened the bat would arrive without me. I rolled the dice and was bumped from flight #3. If I missed flight #4 I would not be able to get to Frisco until the following day with no guarantees on the security of my bat. I sweated bullets for 2 hours but lucked into a seat on flight #4. I landed sprinted to the kiosk and found my bat with unclaimed luggage. I had 1 hour to get an uber to the signing and then still had to purchase my autograph tickets. I was frantic. I got dropped off with 30 minutes left in the signing period. I ran to the door only to discover I had arrived a week early. Needless to say my ticket and bat remain naked without an autograph as I couldn't deal with that level of stress two weeks in a row.

We have all done something like that. There was a very dear lady retiring, earlier this year from the Salvation Army. I RSVP'd a month in advance when I received the retirement party invitation. I marked it on the calendar next to my desk too. SO the RSVP letter was on my desk and it was written for 30 days or more on my calendar. I still forgot to go and was very sad about it. You can't really re-schedule a retirement party . It happens.

Btw, great player collections, guys.

Great Reggie pieces Paul. Love that signed Game 6 ticket.

Mike, funny story, although I am sure it wasn't so funny at the time.

Love the great collections you guys are posting. Scott, that Spanish baseball Mag with Ryan on the cover is fantastic.

Seeing all these collections is inspiring me to start tracking down some pieces for the Reggie collection I have in my imagination.
