Love the Aaron GPC. Incredible that the collector had the sense to get these guys so early in their careers.

I'll be in C'town in two weeks for my 24th consecutive HOF induction weekend. Can't wait!

Reviving a semi old thread that you started Jim. I came across this example of a Hank Aaron autograph from 1954 (purportedly obtained at a train station). There are about a dozen or so other Braves signatures in the album, Roy Smalley Jr. being one of them, and he only played with them during the 1954 season. Assuming it is authentic, it has some similarities to the others posted, but is quite different as well, most likely because of a more rushed nature of signing in a group, as opposed to probably sitting while signing the letter and GPC originally posted. Thoughts?

Default Aaron

I have been a big Aaron collector for almost 30 years and I have examples from 1954 - 2014. Unfortunately, I do not think Richard's post card is real: Aaron's handwriting was and is much sloppier; I have never seen an Aaron autograph with quotation marks around Hank; and that autograph does not match any vintage Aaron autographs I have. I do think ATP's Aaron autograph is real.

My humble opinion.

My 2 cents... I would agree that the postcard and the letter were signed by the same person. The handwriting is the same. So if Hank signed the letter, then he signed the postcard. The only issue would be if somebody wrote the letter for him. I guess that is possible, but I would lean to them both being signed by Aaron.
