Default Post your obscure but not worth much 90's junk here

So much stuff was printed in the 90's, that even the tougher to find stuff isn't worth anything. I've been going through boxes of stuff to see what I have, and thought it would be fun to put some of up here. Feel free to add to the thread.

The 90's are the reason I have not attempted an Ozzie Smith or Willie McGee card chase like the Lou Brock one.

I bet each one has a 1000 or more cards.

I can remember having most of the stuff already posted. I collected Will Clark in the 80s/90s. A few years ago I found my Will Clark collection boxes and ended up throwing most of it away. It was fun to collect as a kid, but none of it was of interest when I 'rediscovered' it.

The same goes with all of these unopened packs and boxes I can remember paying $15-$20 for back then, only not to be able to move them for $5 each. Again, I had a ton of it and got rid of most of it. I had some fun opening the packs, but I literally would open the pack while hovering over a trash can. 99% of the cards went directly into the trash. I might have been overheard saying 'die Donruss, die' in the process, but I cannot confirm that.

I don't know, they are not in the Standard Catalog as far as I can tell by trying to look under both Mead and Upper Deck.

I have some stuff, but no pics. I'll have to really dig into boxes to get some of it out.

Some Plaque things, big thick odd shaped cards.
And a few other notebooks/folders than the set shown.

Topps has cranked up the weird machine this year too,

Chipz - basically poker chips with player stickers and some sort of shuffleboard game you can play with them and magnetic inserts?! They're the easiest to find, just get to the two packs that stick together and buy both. Set of 100 with the obligatory ones with bits of wood or cloth, plus a few that have been written on.

And Cubi - cube shaped rubber stamps of players, team logos and signatures. only 75, but in the odd setup of 50 signatures, 15 team logos, and only 10 player portraits. But with player pictures on the cubes.

Default 1991 Mainly Junk

Al,

Isn't the Ozzie Smith a 1991 Stand Up? Does it have candy? And did you collect all 36 players?

Here is my contribution.....a 1991 4 player panel as part of the 4 panel set of 1991 Topps box bottoms. I am missing 1 of the 4 panels. There are plenty of boxes for sale. Auctions pop up regularly but I think most collectors feel collecting the worthless bottom panels on a set where they produced millions of boxes is so ridiculous, they don't even bother to include a scan of the panel....just a pic of the box. Therefore I can't tell which panel is included on the boxes that are for sale. I am missing set #1 - Blyleven, Brett, Butler & Dawson.

Zack,

Why not just e-mail the sellers and find out what the bottom is? If I was selling these, and someone showed even the smallest interest, I would do everything possible to get it sold.

If you don't want the packs inside, I will take them off your hands for you. As long as the price is reasonable. Like shipping plus $1.

GopherFan,

Are you a Minnesota fan? I went to the Univ. of Michigan . Looks like Oct 5th could be a good game.....

Actually, it is more a function of time than anything else.

I must be. This is my license plate.

I don't think it will be a good game on the 5th. We are terrible, and will continue to be terrible until we can find a quarterback that can complete a pass.

The Classic sets of the late 80's were actually pretty nice looking cards, but then they went nuts in the 90's and all the stuff ended up at Big Lots stores, where I proceeded to buy them out. No Apple or Microsoft stock for me at that time, give me these Classic sets everyone else was to stupid to buy.....

---and I have a sealed case of 1990 Upper Deck wax! After their successful 1989 debut I went in w/ a dealer & bought a case so he could "up" the quantity he was allowed to buy! If I had sold it w/in a couple of yrs I could have made a killing, but decided to hang on to it---now I'm "hanging" all right! LOL!

Default Late 1990s David Justice Mountain Dew Ad Card

Picked up on eBay last year. A late 1990s David Justice Mountain Dew ad card, measuring about 6 x 8, blank back. I'm guessing there's a whole lot of these somewhere but haven't seen another.

Default Topps 1990 Mylar Stickers

Shane--experimental test set and as far as I know that is the entire set. They are listed in the SCD Catalog. Pretty tough issue to find. They sparkle, but it is hard to see in scans
