If investing for the long haul is your motive, then maybe a IRA account is the path. I just collect, to just collect the players i like. Im not here to start a discussion on what-ifs or what the future holds.

I think that the only way for the hobby to truly die would be for the forgers to get so good that it would be impossible to tell the difference between real vintage cards and new copies.
