Just guessing anyway, but either way I found it on Ebay, and have never seen another.
1975 is probably pretty accurate. That is about when I ran across a large group of these in Central Hardware, of all places! They were on an end cap among the hammers and rakes and crap. As a card and autograph collector, I was shocked. They must have been there a while because they were marked down to $1.

...You know, I think I'll finish my little story over on the autograph section. There's probably an autograph collector or two that wonder what the Hell these are. But, anyway, here's your Brock.

hey david,

thought you might want this. free of charge naturally. bought a 77 cloth stickers back proof sheet/blank front which was pretty much toast to begin with. it had stains, holes, rips, tears but also a couple of nolan ryan/pete rose proofs on it which was my reasoning behind the purchase. anyways, it has 2 brocks (the better one shown) and thought you might want it.

i cut it up as best as i could ensuring each salvageable card was cut over sized so the new owners could slice it to their taste.

anyways, if ya'd like it, just pm me a usps label or something and they both are yours. if not, no worries there either.

Here are a few updates to the Lou Brock gallery.

The 1967 Topps Punchout is a toughie, finally found one on Ebay.

The 1974 Topps stamp booklets are tough to find as well, I finally found one as well.

The 76 Topps is a pretty cool miscut, the 72 and 75 not so much.

Thanks to begsu1013 on the hand cut 77 Topps Cloth blank front proofs.

The '72 MB sheet looks GREAT! Of course it would look even better if Brooksie was included. At least you have F. Robby next to Brock that's a big plus.

In the last 6 months or so, I've added a handful of items.

Here is a 1976 9 card Topps panel.

As others have also noted, this pose of Brock taking his lead
is one of the classic Topps action shots.

Man, talk about some consistency from Lou from 1970-74. Too bad the Cardinals traded Carlton and Jerry Reuss or they might have won some more pennants in those years...

I thought you may have foiled me again on something. A kellogg's panel cut-out (not even a full box or full box panel) with both Garvey and Brock sold for much more than I would have expected ($100+), but I have not seen it post yet. Did you see and/or win it by chance?

No, missed that one, no mention of Lou Brock in it, so it didn't show up, but I would have paid for that, only the 2nd one I've ever seen.

Brock was in the title and the description. However, there are items that I seem to miss somehow with Garvey in the title and I do daily searches. No way to explain it except some items don't show up on searches.

I am not sure on the date of this issue, I would guess early 70's.

It's got Koufax, last year 1966, and Brock as a Cub, last year 1964, Frank Robinson as a Red, last year 1965 and a picture of Rod Carew that looks to be from the mid 70's. The Ebay description said the Astro was Nolan Ryan, I think it's probably not, and may be Larry Dierker. Anyway, they are perforated and approx. size is 1 inch x 3/4 inch.

That is a fantasy piece made by Gypsy Oak with a copyright of 2017 on the back, MMXVII. They make other fantasy pieces that are on eBay, I was going to pull the trigger on a cool one a few months ago until I figured out exactly what it was.

I guess I should have read the back and remembered my Roman Numerals.

Oh well, I'm out $11.62.

Listening to the Mets game last night, announcers were showing aerial photos of the old Polo Grounds and the massive distance to center field. They said only 4 guys ever hit one out to dead center and Brock was one of them. Surprised me but maybe it shouldn't have.

Just thought of this seeing this thread and not sure if all the Lou fans knew this. He's had a rough couple of years but still maintains his class and even sense of humor - note the comment on outrunning Molina.

Or maybe 5..... Also interesting on the back of the card is that he is described as a "pitchers best friend" in right, with a strong throwing arm, but his reputation most of his career was as a mediocre left fielder.

A few more pickups over the last 6 weeks

1973 Kelloggs still in the wrapper

1968 Bazooka end panel, I've had the entire panel for a long time, the end panel cut off is hard to find. Thanks Cardinalcollector aka Randy.

1977 scrap with a Lou Brock ghost. It's the 2nd one that I have, almost identical to this one.

Hey Dave, I didn't realize that was you that won the Bazooka Brock. If you have a Brock want-list, you should send it to me. Regards, Randy

Picked this up from Randy. Struck out on the Dodge Challenger, and forgot to bid on the 71 Dayton Daily News......

Really like the candy lid proof. I think most of the lid proofs that I have seen were finished backs. Cool that this one doesn't have all of the colors.
