I received these over the last few days. With the addition of the 63 Fleer White my 63 Fleer set is now complete. I need four cards to finish the 64 Stand-up set. The Fence Busters is an upgrade for the one that I have in my collection

GREAT Eights Peter & James! Bravo!

As a lifetime Atlanta Braves fan, I'm especially 'taken' with the Aaron!

Inexpensive but less than 20 graded - nice image of Mays, and much smaller than the 1960 version

Love the Macgregor - great pickup! Great pose, rare, and a nice set.

I also love the Clemente and the Oliva (who is a sleeper favorite of mine to collect) from this set.

Default Another for the Mantle run

This was a very exciting pickup. Was not sure I was ready to go for this in a 7, but the centering hooked me.
Absolute matter of preference, but I'll take one less than stellar corner for 50/50 centering most any day.

Will get him into a new lighthouse holder at the National, and all will be well.

Totally agree with you. I'll take great centering over dinged corners any day. Although at a 7, there isn't much ding - and when I am picking centering over corners it's usually on PSA 4-6's and not such high ticket items.

Congrats!

Mailday part II is this lesser-grade ‘61. Hard to go wrong for 15 bucks, though...

Well, it's the last Topps 67 I needed to complete the set. That makes it a nice pick up. Hmmm, might have to upgrade Rico's neighbors...

Nice All Stars. Are you doing just the All Star cards? I did all the 60s All Star subsets. I'm thinking about adding the 58 and 59 ones.

In general, I'm accumulating graded high numbers to trade, but have been on a bit of a 1961 All Star tear lately. So many HOF'ers, so little time.

The 1961 All Star cards are my favorite. 1960 is a close second. I have a 1962 Drysdale AS PSA 9 on the way. I have all 102 of the 1960s AS cards but I'm always looking for upgrades.

Wrinkles that can be very difficult to see are usually one of the first suspects on otherwise very nice cards that come back a 5 and surprise you. Mostly they are on the back, but I've seen some 5's that have multiple light wrinkles on the front.

If it's none of the above, then who knows. I've seen a lot of 6's lately that could be 7's. I've argued for a while now that PSA should have some type of service - maybe even make it premium - where the grade your card got is explained in a paragraph or something like that, if they aren't going to do sub-grades like Beckett does for the newer cards. I guess they would see that as skewing their business model, and it would only add to their already ridiculous turnaround times, however. I don't know. I think that back in the early days of TPG's, PSA was probably on par with SGC in terms of strictness. Here lately they seem to be harsher graders - particularly with vintage - to prove some kind of point. Everything seems to be more of a game anymore than taken at face value...

Got these two today. The Drysdale is an upgrade for my 62 AS subset. The Stuart gets me down to needing three cards to finish my 64 Stand-up set.

John, I really don't think there is any spider wrinkling/creasing in the hat, but I need to purchase a loupe as my eyes aren't what they once were.
I believe when I talked about this card before, there might have been a little bit of that wrinkling on the back? IIRC, it was hardly noticeable but likely the reason for the grade. The TPG, imo, despite the tiny bit of wrinkling, graded it tough. If I could find all 3's in this condition, I'd purchase them all.

Rekindling the 52 Topps theme that was prevalent earlier in this post. These arrived a few days ago, plus another multiplayer card as well.

Some real beautiful cards so far this month, guys. I'm chomping at the bit to get back to collecting. Soon.

Peter, that '64 Giant Bob Gibson is gorgeous. Looking on Ebay at some of the big name guys, I'm shocked that they're not more in demand, from a price point perspective. I know they're an oddity, as far as Topps issues go, but the investor in me says that at some point, these are going to go up in value.

There are a couple gorgeous Mickey Mantles with certified autos. I'd love to own one of those. The Hank Aaron is one of my favorite Hammerin' Hank issues. The Clemente, too.

I wonder why there's no Eddie Mathews, though?

The 63 Fleer Yastrzemski is from the LOTG auction. It is an upgrade for the PSA 8 in my set. Picked up the 1959 Aaron/Mathews Fence Busters a couple weeks ago so I thought I would add the 1958 one.

Knocked this card off of my need list, thanks in part to the recent ebay coupon code thread...

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
