Fred your cards look fantastic. How did you keep those corners so sharp all these years?!

The '53s my dad gave me are pretty beat up. Brooklyn Dodgers were his favorite, so they got the brunt of it.

Clem Labine lived in Woonsocket, a couple blocks from where my mom and her siblings grew up. Here he is with a group of neighborhood kids. He has his arm around my uncle Michael, who looks to be about 4 or 5, which would date this picture to about 1960.

I guess I was just quite careful w/ them--We never played "pitch" or even did much trading in my area. i bought cards, opened packs & sorted them out and then stored them away in cigar boxes.

Most all my cards from 1950 thru 1954 are in similar condition, and most all my '53's show almost no chipping in the Red or Black name panels, which is an easy way to tell/see wear on a '53 Topps card..
