let's put it this way.

if you were in the majors list the top 20 teams you sign with.

can guarantee you would not have the Angels in it, unless you were from there.

might be in the bottom 3-4.

it's like re-signing a long term deal with the Detroit Lions.

See how much more reasonable it sounds to say you think he shouldn't have signed with the Angels, than the 3rd grade all caps hyperbolic insults?

I notice the same poster who is upset the Yankees are good is also saying why would anyone want to sign with a bad team.

I notice you like to post, but are afraid to list your name.

I notice some like to whine about names because it cuts off effective ad hominems and pushes them to engage with the actual statements instead of unrelated attacks on the person.

Well if i was in the majors, no offense to anyone here but i doubt i spend my time here arguing this point, i would be a young rich guy seeing the world and i would care less about that discussion...

So, by that logic, being a New York Knick would be one of the 2-3 worst options for a basketball player. The Las Vegas Raiders would be a bottom 3-4 destination for an NFL player. The New York Mets would be waiting for the Angels scraps, since they are definitely below the Angels in accomplishments the past 20 years.

The Angels have nothing going for them except: (1) 2 of the 5 most talked about players in MLB; (2) the best weather in the country; (3) local media does not crucify players every time the team loses a couple of games; (4) an owner who historically has paid top of the market to bring in talent (though it has backfired on a few occasions, most recently Rendon); and (5) the option to live your life without being mobbed for being a celebrity. All of this while living in one of the two biggest best markets for food, culture and entertainment in the US.

All of the teams in your "Top 20 MLB teams" list have had a stretch like the Angels, yet the talented players on the Angels still have tremendous marketability and national exposure, which is not always the case for top players in other markets, like Cleveland, Minnesota and Tampa Bay.

You make excellent points......for someone who cares more about location & other fluff then winning.

He could have had pretty much all you mentioned if he just went across town and played for a winner.

So then a player should always go to the place that offers him the easiest path to championships? So Kawhi was an idiot for not joining the Lakers three years ago when they had just acquired AD. AD + Lebron + Kawhi would have virtually guaranteed a good 4-5 year run of titles, barring major injuries. He and Durant could have gone down 1-2 as the greatest NBA players of all time with all their rings on stacked teams.

I guess Aaron Judge should just go ahead and sign with the Dodgers this offseason, along with Correa and deGrom. Nobody cares about competition in sports, it is just about the one holding the trophy. I can just tune out the playoffs until Game 6 or 7 of the World Series. Can you let me know when a team is within an out or two of winning, so I can start caring about the season? Nevermind, I will just wait for Sportscenter to do it for me. Seven months of my life freed up!
