Default Well done, and good luck!

In 2012 I would like to get to pick up one new T206 card per month and reach 512/524. This should be only limited by my financial willingness to spend. I also had enough extra 1941 Goudeys that a second master set is only a dozen cards away. This will be much, much tougher to get done in 2012. I'd also like to put together T205 and T207 Brooklyn sets but fear a couple of the cards will have to wait.
Well done on the Goudey master!

Best of luck for 2012! On the plus side, the T207 Brooklyn subset is by no means one of the hardest team sets - except for one or two semi-tough Recruits, they're straightforward. They've all been on eBay this month - most of the 12 still are.

I expect Ragan and Miller to be the problem cards in the T207 Brooklyn set.

This year I continued the hunt for the Monster. I have close to 200 cards so far. I picked up a lot of HOFers and got good deals on graded commons at a number of shows. My set is lower grade, so the cost was rather reasonable.

I did acquire a number of "iconic" cards that I have wanted for some time: three Goudey Gehrigs, a Wagner (not T206!) two non-T-206 Planks, a '53 Mantle (just love the look of that card), and a few other random HOFers in different sets.

This year I will continue to focus on hunting the Monster and working on a 1934 Goudey set, which I am about 16 cards in.

I didn't finish anything in 2011. I am 2/3 of the way to completing my 34 Goudey set. This year I would love to finish the set and pick up some random pre war HOF's.

Silly me - I should have known better. That's what happens when Autofilter is on in your spreadsheet and you're under cold medication! Yes, definitely to Ragan, but O. Miller, maybe not so much. Higgins is probably as tough.

The only thing I completely finished is a 52 bowman set.

I got within 2 of 518 t206's. Within 2 of t205 hofer subset. Within 5 of e120 hofer subset. Within 5 of 33 goudey hofer subset.

In 2012 I hope to finish 518 t206's, t205 hofers, get within 1 on the e120's, and pick up another 33 goudey Ruth if one falls into my price range. I'll be on the look out for a Demmitt and Ohara PB and will pick one up if the stars align.

Also venturing down the path of pre-war type cards. Still in the wandering around phase on that.

Everyone have a great Holiday Season!

"What did I finish... nuttin'

What are my goals for 2012... to continue down my current collecting path... and lose a few pounds."

+1...I'm totally with you Alan!!!!!!!

I sold off my rarest and most valuable T206's in 2011...with the intention of eventually getting rid of all of them...started the e94 set...only 3 cards away...and picked up a bunch of cards I really love!

Default collecting

I have three collections that I am currently putting together:

T206's, T201's, and a Mantle type run from '51-69.

I first started collecting vintage in 2011 when I purchased a T206 Steamer Flanagan for a good price on New Year's day. I am currently 20% complete on the T206's, only 11% complete on the T201's and I have a decent stash of Mantles, but am still missing the '51, 52 and '53 among a few others. I am also collecting the oddities of Mantle during those years as well.

As for 2012, I hope to pick up a few more Mantles, add to my T206 and T201 set (don't really have a percentage or number of additions, but just want to continue to add as I see fit).

Happy collecting everyone and have a great holiday season!

Finished the 41 Double Play (need to do the same with the blog).

I think I can finish the base set of T206s in 2012...May wait on Ohara, Demmett variations...then the upgrading can begin (and it will be a lifetime chore).

I hope to complete and begin marketing a new product for low grade t card collectors.

And I hope to start a 1961 Topps set.
