Finished absolutely nothing, but made significant progress on my Baseball Hall of Fame project, and ended up adding a lot more rookies than I thought I would've been able to...Goals for next year-continued progress.

Also, on the football side, I decided to finally put some focus into something...Albeit late in the year, I did end up starting and making significant progress on the Heisman winner rookies..Goals for next year-complete, and pick a new project.

I started the T206 set. Nothing special meaning I'm not collecting different backs, etc. (Eventually) I just want the set (minus 4) in nice presentable condition.

12 months ago, I never thought I'd be at about 93% of my T206 set. Many thanks to the several board members that have helped along the way. The last 7% won't likely be done in 2012 (too many big cards), but It'll be fun to try....

This year as a researcher had highs and lows... My highs I have already celebrated on the board, but my lows....

Apparently SABR does not ask for volunteers! In 2011 I compiled a comprehensive history of the Yakima-Kittitas (Central Washington) Semi-Pro Baseball League (1920-31) including ball fields, records, league champions, team & individual batting averages. However, if I do not pay SABR $X per month or year, they are not interested in the information. My goodness, I would gladly GIVE them the statistics without reservation. It seems they are not interested in the minor league statistics of such players as Roy Johnson 1922-24 (brother of Indian Bob Johnson), Hunky Shaw (1921-31), Lester "Stump" Ferguson (1920 - 25), Leo Fitterer (1926 - 27), and Jimmy Claxton (1926-31).

Anyone at SABR, if you are interested in the info. Contact me via PM.

Some significant progress on expanding my Punches and Campo Alegres.... but still have some significant holes...

I agree that having the holes is part of the fun.... always being on the "lookout"...

hope that it takes me 20 years to finish...

I'm not a Cuban card guy, but holy crap that is an impressive collection.

Good luck in 2012!

Default goals for 2012

I plan on pushing harder this year on my T206 set. I'm right around 300 cards and would like to push it to 400 by the end of next year.

Best regards,

Joe

Default Sets

After 12 months I am back to about 85% of the T-206 set. The last 15% will be difficult as I am now focusing on Backs.

Finish all the Blyleven PSA Registry sets

Continue to enjoy collecting...when that stops all the cards go away...

Exhibit Salutations

No plans for the future; what I collect is too odd to plan on. If it surfaces, it surfaces.

Default What did you finish this year? And, collecting goals for 2012?

I was able to finish my website after about three years of design and adding pages and info. Now I have to keep adding items which will be the fun part. This year I also added to my collection of 30s and 40s autographs and 1930s cards! My collecting goals for 2012 are early scorecards and T204

Happy Holidays

Default T206s, W512s & more

I mainly focused on my T206 set, closing the gap to 58 cards needed.

I nearly completed my W512 baseball subjects set (need Everett Scott - White Sox).

I also picked up some random Old Judges, T210s and 34 Goudeys throughout 2011.

For 2012, I want to complete my W512 set and perhaps significally close the gap on my T206 set (sans big 4).

Didn't really complete anything for 2011 as I just got back into collecting.

For 2012, though, I'd like to finish my 1947 Jackie Robinson Bond Bread set, as well as pick up a few key HOF Rookies (Ted Williams, Whitey Ford), etc.

I try to get all the Yankees i can, and love to have ALL Yankees from as many old sets as i can. This month i got the last Play Ball Yankee i needed to have ALL the Yankees from all three Play Ball sets, 1939, 1940, and 1941. The card i got to complete my Yankee run was the 1940 Joe DiMaggio, see below:

Default Impressive, Most Impressive!

Very Impressive Everyone! I'm in awe of everyone on the board's set collecting this year. It was really cool to read about the wide variety of cards in which our community collects! I can't believe how many of you are almost done with the "Monster"!

As for me, my main focus continues to be E98s. I have 100 out of the 120 for the Master Set. The problem for 2011 is that out of the 20 that I need, 6 of them are Cobbs, Wagners, and Youngs; so I know financially I wouldn't be able to complete this project even if they would come up for sale. I guess it is a good problem to have. I will have to branch out with my collecting since I'm at a point where the ones I need rarely come along for sale. Time to pick something new to work on!

Best wishes for a fantastic collecting New Year!

Tim,

You're right at the point that I reached when I gave up.

If you're patient, you can complete it as those cards will pop up. I documented most of the cards I needed for sale after I stopped. However, I understand very well the feeling of missing out on other cards and projects to collect one set.

I should've at least kept one set!

Good luck either way next year.

Rob

Default Finish, start for 2012

Finished buying any modern cards and started selling them for prewar cards. I'm with Tim on trying to put together the E98 set in all the colors, but have a much further way to go. Also, I started picking up some E94's within the past year. I'd like to get a set together, but also master set of Cobb/Wagner in all the colors. With the way E98/E94's have dried up, this will be a daunting task for years to come.

+1 - - ditto, but I think my goal will simply be to pick up every card that Phil posts on the B/S/T so that I end up with all of his "sloppy seconds".

The close of 2011 has been extremely busy as my wife and I welcome our daughter (Brielle) into the world on December 5th and we closed on our house on December 14th. I would not advise anyone to do all that in the same month!!

In 2012, I plan on finishing my T201 set (10 away) and starting on the T200 Fatima set.

I also am slowly working on aquiring all the "HOF" or "star" Topps cards from 1952 to present to put into binders based upon the decade.

Well, as we close the book on 2012, I sit right at 95% done. I need 15 or so cards to get to 518, and then we shall see on the Polar Bear bros. I am down to needing to upgrade 8 cards to have all SGC 40 or better too. I did end up buying a few T207s, but I will probably end up dumping them. I think T207s will end up just too daunting. Been a great year working on the collection.

Best,

Andy
