For me:

Prewar - 1921 Zeenut #18 Oscar Stanage (and/or 1922 Zeenut #74 Oscar Stanage)

Post war - 1987 Pocatello Giants the Bon #9 Mike Greenwood (I have been looking for this one forever to finish my Greenwood set)

Rose PC of Hal Chase. I'd murder someone for it at this point. Or pay a lot of money. Either one.

For the last 9 years I've been looking for a Willard's Chocolate Collins. I have the Ruth and Cobb but can't find the Collins.

Easy. 1915 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb. I wouldn't murder anyone (yet) but it may come to that.

1924 Willard's Chocolates V122

1924 Willard's Chocolates Sports Champions V122

I bought all three as a set...can't remember where...some auction. The Collins comes up on occasion, it's not rare, just not very common. Just checked -- there are 27 graded by PSA and SGC combined.

With the money you'd spend, you could buy a W600 Cobb, a D304 Cobb and a t215 Cobb and still have PLENTY of money leftover.

Plus a card like that will most likely be spending most of its time in a bank vault.

Default Lower Grades Make Them "affordable" For Me!

I would love to buy any of the following 6 E98s. Each card in a lower grade is certainly acceptable by me and it is what makes them "affordable".

Cobb in a Red or Orange Background
Young in a Red or Green Background
Brown in a Red Background
Dahlen in a Blue Background

I'm hoping to somehow swing purchasing all 6 of these in 2013 to complete the Master Set....if I can find them in "affordable for me" condition.

Neat Thread!

As affordable cards go, I'd like a 1952 Globe Printing Padres card of Al Richter.

Boy, Dave, you really hit my nail right on the head! Tough, undervalued card that's numero uno on my list also. If memory serves correctly, Steve Verkman's Clean Sweep Auctions had an EXMT last summer, and if my recollection is accurate, I believe it went for only about $1,100. Was depressed that I missed it.

Best always,

Larry

Default All Cubs

E254 Beaumont
T207 Saier
T207 W. Miller

I just missed a Saier on the bay. Too many of us have the subset minus Miller and Saier.

At least yours is a hurdle.......mine's Mount Everest

Purchases for MY hobbies such as vintage cardboard and watches are always met with disdain.....but all her purchases are justifiable.

But as they say happy wife, happy life
