A big DITTO to what Joe D. just stated.

B & L's ending the auction lots individually, is a feature that all other auction houses should emulate.

Great auction....as usual....Leon and Scott.

Thanks,

Likes: Ending items individually, makes a ton of sense
No Shpping charge since we can arrange a personal pickup

Dislikes: Sales Tax (I know that's a legal thing), still not a fan

As a bidder, I love that.... But I think the consignors weren't as thrilled.

Scott and I both bid and consign to as many auctions as almost anyone. There is no perfect way to end. We think the individual ending is better for our auctions but it's not much different, in the end, than most of other ways to end. Whoever bids the most wins.

One thing I do want to mention is that we put out an email that said we do take paypal and cc, and that was a mistake. We don't. As always we take checks, cashiers checks and money orders.....as we always have. Thanks to all who participated.

I think it was nice to have most lots end at a reasonable hour...I liked it...despite going oh-fer!

Picked up my first T3 last night. Been wanting an example for a while. A 2nd Series and a variation. I'm happy.

I like the format of each item ending by itself. I was able to go to bed @11pm after picking up 3 on my want list...other auctions if you go to bed at 2am you still aren't sure if you will win or not. It's more about who can stay up longer than anything else...

I dropped out of 3-4 others when the bidding got too high (for me). I personally think there were a lot of deals to be had.

Won 2 lots, but not the one I really wanted.

Like others, I enjoyed my beauty rest.

I've always wondered, that if I get lucky in one of these auctions and win, do I get Brockelman too?

2 thumbs up on the ending format. It's great for buyers. Grabbed the one card I was targeting and was in the sack by midnight...wish more houses adopted this format. Thanks.

Yeah. Tough one to let go but couldn't justify a BL350 going for more then the Drum.

I was at a wedding and kept sneaking away to bid....fortunately the party and rums made up for it

I was able to plug a couple of holes in sets with cards you don't see too often- the orange background E98 Mack and the D310 Pacific Coast Biscuit Carlisle. Enjoyed the auction, thanks L & S.

Default Fell asleep

Well I came up short on two items. My own fault, fell asleep, when I woke up at 10:55 lots were already closed. Wasn't the first time and won't be the last.

Congrats to everyone who won items! A very nice auction!

I won the mystery lot! It was advertised as an 82 and 87 Topps set but the pictures were of 83 and 87. We'll see what arrives! I'm happy either way as the five year old who gets to put them in his album won't know the difference.

It is as advertised '82 and '87.....one of the Topps pictures got uploaded incorrectly.

I was happy to land this low grade, but very nice looking Robinson.. and also definitely liked that it closed 30 minutes after the auction ended.

Picked up a t207 Bris Lord (incorrectly labeled by SGC as Harry), a T201 (love this set) Lapp/Barry from the Lionel Carter collection, and you can't go wrong with HOFer George Sisler. Great auction, I also like the ending style!

Default An Open Recommendation For B&L Auctions

I consigned nearly two dozen lots to B&L Auctions this time around, and I cannot be more pleased with the outcome. I found the customer service to be outstanding from my initial inquiry through auction's end. I literally put everything I wanted to consign in a huge box and then Scott prepared 23 individual lots based on what he thought would maximize the potential value of my consignment. While a handful of lots closed somewhat below where I had hoped, which is to be expected in any auction, most closed at or meaningfully above my own expectations.

I also do not think I was particularly affected by the closing practices of the auction. There was a surprising amount of activity in the 48 hours leading up to extended bidding, much of which I would hazard to guess would not have occurred if bidders could have delayed bidding into the night as a strategy. Stated another way -- if you were genuinely interested in an item, you had to put up or shut up right away, or risk losing the item.

Finally, I think it speaks volumes that the moderator of this site is a named partner in this endeavor and does not overly promote the auction in banner ads or posts or the like. Including the lowest BP in the industry, there is a real effort here to promote a collector-driven auction without any of the typical concerns we often see raised about auction houses.

Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the choir, but B&L Auctions has got it figured out. Good work, gentlemen! Bravo.

Default One point I want to make

And this is good for both EBay and other auctions. If you have a max bid in mind; just go ahead and make that bid, that way you are not subject to "Oh I forgt" --- or my snipe did not work on time.

If there is a bid you want to make, make it and forget about it. You'll sleep better on auction night and perhaps even some EBay sellers won't pull auctions when they do not receive any bids.

I put in my bids, and watch the auction. And in this auction I did win one of my lots under my max.

Rich

Default B & l

All:

The way they end the auction is the most creative and classiest of all the auctions I've bid on.
If the lot has no or one bid on it, it closes, it can't get much better than that.

thanks again & again,

the Guzze Family
