The 2007 Standard Catalog lists this card @ $475 in VG. The auction is at $1100 with 3 hours to go. Is Krause this far off on all of the caramel cards? I am noticing the same problem with CJ's. PSA 1's and 2's are going for more than Krause prices for VG's.

rick...I believe this card sold at an inflated price...I'd wager 6-800 in this condition waould be more appropriate...but the guide is way off on many counts.

The last bid was placed about 7 or 8 minutes before the auction ended. I didn't really expect that to be the last bid. I guess all of the snipe bids were set too low.

I didn't expect to win...

I think it was a pretty gutsy guess. I bet not many people would have thought there would be no snipes at all in the last minute. Nice job.

Can anyone tell me the PSA pop report figures on this card?
A number of them have popped up lately at auction--how scarce is it?
Thanks,

I am curious.....any particular reason why you chose this lot for the contest ?

This was fun; so, when can we expect the next contest ?

It's a tough card from the last Series in this set.

Once again my apologies to anyone this contest offended. I wanted this game to be one in which anyone that looked at the board could play if they wanted to. I started out by looking at the time left on all auctions. I wanted the contest to last about 2-3 days long. This particular card was also picked because of the high number of bidders and bid price when starting. Both were rather high. I also wanted one that would likely (obviously wrong) get a snipe at the end. Add all this to the fact it's a cool card and there you have my demented reasoning. (Also I couldn't know the seller too well...) Hope everyone had fun. There will be another 1-2 in Feb.....take care

Leon,

I liked the contest. Do you know what would make it more interesting is to lock off the thread 2 days before the auction closes. Now that would be some good guessing. Nobody could rev up the final guess as the their initial guesses are surpassed (unless of course the guess was surpassed 2 days before the auction closed).

I am in agreement with the "LOCKing" of the Contest; but, some time of your choosing on the
last day of the LOT ending.

Added suggestion.....select a LOT that ends midnite EST (or 11 PM); therefore, PST members
have a fair chance at it, too.

Guys- I think the 1st contest was a small disaster. The 2nd one was better. My guess is that the 3rd one will be even better. I am sure it will be done differently and agree that, if it's the same type, there will be a time quite a bit before the auction closes, that is the cut off for guesses. Live and learn....Overall I think it accomplished the goal which was to have a little fun...

Leon, I appreciate the contests, but on this one we should not be allowed to enter the contest with only minutes left in the auction. That makes it too easy. It should end 24 hours or so before the end of the auction. Maybe some sour grapes here, since my entry was 1377.77 near the beginning of the contest.

edited to say that I just read Leon's last post, so he knows what I'm saying.

edited again to add that I was over by 0.77, so I wouldn't have won anyway.
