I've wanted one of these since I was a kid; finally pulled the trigger:

I was walking away when I saw the Devil at a local card show. Saw him out of the corner of my eye, he whispered " do it" So I did it.

Default A bit of a toughie

I received in the mail today the last card I needed to complete my PSA graded 1973-74 Topps Basketball set. It is a PSA 9 #34 Leroy Ellis. I saw the card go up and I pulled the trigger at lightning speed. I haven't seen a PSA Ellis up for sale in at least a year (other than autographed ones), so I was elated to get one of the 3 9's that exist (no 10's). Of course, I can't add it yet (grrrr) because the person hasn't released the number yet, but I've got it. WooHoo!!!!

This month I finished my '67-'68 Topps hockey setI'm still waiting on that "slow boat from Canada" to deliver a couple of cards, but this second year Bobby Orr arrived today slabbed in a Beckett 4 VG-EX holder.

Most recent pick-ups. Two more Orr for my slow accumulation of his stuff in graded form, along with the Espo from a subset I love and finally a PSA Fuhr RC. Thanks for the look.

Nice. The '68-'69 TOPPS series is notorious for bad centering. That said, the PSA O/C qualifier bug me to no end. Not just on this particular series either, it's obvious to the eye and that "scarlet letter" PSA attaches diminishes an otherwise very sharp card and it's value unnecessarily. Just sayin'. The Mahovlich card is NOT that bad, and I've seen worse cards evade that PSA qualifier. Okay, my rant is over. Thanks for sharing them. First hockey set I started collecting back in days of egg creams and 2cent pretzels.

You can ask for no qualifiers; I didn't. I've seen worse 7's than the Mahovlich but the really irksome thing is that the Mahovlich is a better card than the Hall but would grade a straight 6 if the qualifier was removed. To me, really, both are near mint cards. The Cheevers for that matter should be a 9 oc. I'd rather that than a 6.

Which is why I usually just buy slabbed hockey rather than self-submitting; better control over what I get.

Right on. That Mahovlich is a joke. What a beautiful card. And the Cheevers is definitely O/C.

About 18 months ago I submitted three OPC Tony Esposito RC's. Got a 9, 7 o/c, and a 6. All cards I had since I was a kid. The o/c was barely, and all three looked sharp.

Comparing your Mahovlich to the Cheevers, they missed the boat as to what one was o/c.

Nice cards anyway...

Nice Gordie auto. The man is a physical marvel. Seems the older he gets, he tougher he gets. The day he passes will be the end of an era, and you can bet the profiteers will be out in full force.

I picked up 2/3rd's of a card I've always wanted. I dislike multiplayer rookie cards, and really dislike horizontal cards in graded cases. Here is my compromise:

Two graded HOF rookies for $25. I'll take it.

Or is it one HOF graded rookie? Haha

These were sitting at my front door when I got home today. You wonder how packages go undelivered? Maybe it's not always the recipient telling a story.

And BTW, what brainwave decided to name a delivery company "Oops..."?

It was fairly quiet there today. How was it yesterday?

Most, through the grumblings, said it was due to the snow that was forecast?

Some dealers were packing up today around 2. Went to one, who I likely would have purchased from, but the cards I was earlier interested in were already packed up.

Quite busy on Saturday. They also had motorcycle and spa/pool conventions going on so the parking lots were packed.

Sunday was great as it was very easy to get around without having to look over everyone's shoulder (I'm vertically challenged, lol)

The place (outside) was packed for sure but inside the card show was a pleasant surprise.

You and me will likely disagree, but Scott definitely went out of his way to hurt/injure Lindros.

Not sure the type of person he is today, but I can't help but think he likely regrets it.

Love the Post Shooter!

Added this recently. It was supposed to be an exhibit but turned out to be a team issue with a very vintage autograph:
