Phil and Derek,

Thanks. I was very surprised to pick up the Bottomley on ebay for what I thought was a good price.

Default Several replacement cards this month

Thanks to everyone so far that is helping me rebuild my collection. Cannot seem to get the photo upright so this one's for the right brained people.

First time I've ever put the fronts and backs together in a pic. That took WAY too long for me to figure out, and it didn't even really work. Oh well. These haven't arrived yet, but excited for my first ever Cycle backs!

Not sure, man! Although these were cheaper than buying McGraw and Matty RCs! Ha!

That McGraw portrait is one of my favorite cards. To get it in the Cycle back is pretty sweet.

If you like THAT one, wait until you see the next one I'm getting. I can't say yet though as the deal is not complete yet, but I'm stoked for sure!

Picked this up from the latest Baggers Auction, which ended on Thursday night, paid via Paypal on Friday, and received it in my mailbox on Monday! Super fast shipping and great service again!

Default Three More C46s

Picked up three more C46 catchers and now I have 8 of 12 of the catchers in the set.

I added cards 74, 89, and 90. Picked up Bill Byers, Lew McCarty, and Harry Curtis. Bit of a homecoming for Harry in that I live just South of Portland, ME where he was born.

Default It's been awhile

So busy lately. Have had some of these for awhile, but between spring break, taxes and coaching baseball, there hasn't been time. EPDG pickups from B&L, Goodwin and eBay:

Nice c46's Patrick....they are really growing on me. Love the little bios on the backs too. If you have a chance would love to see scans of backs. Dave. ps do you get them graded, or keep em raw? What 4 catchers do you still need?

Default C46 Catchers

Hi David,

The C46s were slabbed and I cracked them out since I keep my collection in lucite holders. The last 4 C46 catchers I need are: Butler, Hardy, Mitchell, and Wells.

Busy mail day today. Some of the highlights include my first Cycle back. The same card I guess would count as my first T206 Freak as the back was misaligned and you can see the edge from the next card on the left side. Also received my first prewar auto.

Default 1910 Hugh Smith Obak

Another purchase this month. I could not resist the front/back combination on this card, so I upgraded my Hugh Smith 1910 Obak. Great gloss still on front of this card makes the colors pop.

Default Boss Schmidt E92

Lastly, I picked this up in the recent Goodwin & Co. Auction. Boss Schmidt E92 Dockman & Sons. It has to be one of the strangest views for a catcher card.

Thanks, man! Yeah, it's definitely in the Top Ten for sure. It's a very presentable low grade card....just the way I like 'em!

Thanks guys. Aside from always being happy to buy from a nice guy and N54er, it was Pud's gut and posture, along with his colorful history that sold me on that one... love that guy

Jeff, nice Coombs postcard!

I always try to stop picking up '14 CJs, cuz I know I'll never be able to finish the set, but every once in a while another finds its way into my mailbox ... and a couple other items that showed up at the same time:

The newest addition to my Goudey set came today. I need to get a new scanner, mine is starting to show streaks.

Thanks Ian! I've been waiting for awhile to pull the trigger.

I picked up this Sporting Life last night on eBay. Anyone know if they've ever been reprinted? The description said it was 13 x 14 which is correct. It's got a pin hole at the top but I won it for just over $100. I figured it might be too good to be true?

Hit number 75 today; cracked Krause out of an older SGC 20 holder. Looks slightly better than that to me.

Packs-
I do not know if they have been reprinted, but they generally are not very expensive (although I think they should be given the players and age). It should feel like a heavy magazine page. The tackhole is good, and the size seems right to me (I recently acquired and traded a few of them that I know to be real). Others can give you better information but I believe it to be good (based on the photo above). I also think you got it at a very decent price for the apparent condition (I have seen a lot with tears).

I picked up the 2 OJs from Don at the show in Wilmington MA. I know they are trimmed, but I really like the photo quality of both and the background on the Dwyer in particular.

First addition to my WaJo collection in quite some time - from eBay/Probstein (thanks. R.P., for the super fast shipping!). I'm pumped because this silk is much nicer than my three S74 Old Mill WaJos (different colors), each of which has stitch marks along the edges. I don't know much about S74s - do I correctly understand that the S74 WaJo is also found with a Red Sun ad, which is scarcer than a Turkey Red, which in turn is scarcer than an Old MIll?

Nice, if you get too scared it's not real, I'll make you whole.

Packs:

The W601 premiums have been reprinted though at a smaller size.

Yours is good. Nice pickup.
