Got me a 1975 Topps Mini complete set of the B/S/T. I've been wanting a set from my birth year and got a gem of a set.

Thanks. Considering out of the 25 years of collecting, the only cards i've had was the Brett and Yount. I know its easy to buy it this way but I dont think I was going to ever get this set.

A great Clemente Ballantine Beer pickup. Very cool! I picked up these 2 Bench cards. I am only 2 cards away from finishing the basic set.

Fairly new to the site, but I got my SGC package back yesterday, and was very excited to see the results of my 1969 Reggie Jackson and Joe DiMaggio. I will also throw in a pic of another DiMaggio card that arrived in the mailbox. Thought I would try and share these on the board.

Nice pickups on the exhibits. It is ironic that you posted these as I picked up 75 of them today that came along with a batch of other cards. I had no background on exhibit cards but did some research and learned a lot about the different years printed and how to tell. I will post a few of them later when I scan them.

Congrats Sean those are some nice grades. What company made the Jackson and Dimaggio card? I have not seen one of those before.

Thanks!
These are from the 1969 Oakland A's Andersen set (also called Jack in the Box, erroneously). Not to be confused with the 1969 Oakland Broder (I have a DiMaggio Broder also).

Default That Jackie

Neat stuff...what is the printing on the label of the Robinson photo ? That looks like a Team Issue from the 1940's ?? Thanks and keep on the hunt.

Exactly. It is the 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers Picture Pack Jackie Robinson. I have the entire set, in addition to the Cleveland Indians set, so I got Robinson and Paige put into holders. Someday, I will send everyone in.

...great 1948 Dodgers...so you have Snider and Hodges and Furillo and Reese and Miksis etc ? Neat ... can you tell us how much it costs to have one of those graded ? They're bigger than exhibit cards. Thanks

I think it was like twenty bucks (as opposed to seven bucks each for the other cards). But I think they have specials sometimes, so maybe you can do it even cheaper?

My bday month so gotta come strong out the box!

* The 1976 Ryan was a PSA 7 bought for $44 that was cracked and resubmitted; knew off the bat it was a sick undergrade mistake.

Chris,

Snagged this WL with some of the best centering on the card and lack of tilt I have seen, let alone in lower grade. Have a special section in my collectorfocus.com gallery now for all my Mantles, which is in my signature line.

I don't collect graded cards, but when they come along at a good price, I jump all over 'em. The '64 Stand Ups are one of my favorite sets of all time and grabbing a PSA 9 from the '72 high series (not to mention it's Bubba Smith!) is always a great move…

Big fan of that '58 Mantle. Speaking of Mantle a nice pick-up for me to help ease my pain of having to sell my '57 bb set:

Hi Chris,

This was part of a three card panel--just like the one you sold a while back. I am not sure the back on this one as I don't have it in hand yet, but I believe it is the back of another card.

Wow-- been looking for a Fisk just like that! Amazing value on the 7s and they can look great.

The Berra/Mantle is another favorite card.

Great Fisk. That is not a card you see centered very often. Also loving that 1950 Bowman Jackie. Such a nicer looking card than his 52 Topps.

I have been very quiet since my Jan/Feb Mantle explosion. Back on it and added these to the collection. The marked "6" is on the sleeve, not the 68 Mick.

Thats what i kinda wondered..i remember mine had a more brighter orange back than the original and had someone else on the front tho. Thats why i questioned, as this has Mantle on the front, wondered what the back looked like. Kinda interested to see it.

It turns out there was a picture of the back on the ebay listing:

It has been a few years now; been seeking one of these centered to pair up with the freak Carew I found last year. Not a pair you see centered every day...

MattyC, Nice pickup on the the Seaver rookie. I think I remember seeing you post the Carew rookie. If I recall the centering on that card was near perfect if not perfect especially for the grade.

Matty C - I have looked/flipped through hundreds of '67s. That Carew is ridiculously centered. Very well done. Did you just happen upon it on E-Bay?

Yoss--

Me, too; I must have had a search for "1967 Topps Carew" every day for years, hoping to find a centered one--- and then one day saw that card. It was an SGC 88 from a longtime SGC set builder. He had it listed on eBay as he'd recently upgraded to a 9. I could not buy it fast enough. Crossed it for uniformity at the time and was a bit shocked-- the grade does not match the eye appeal by a longshot. Looks like an 8.5 or even a 9 on a good day. Would be among the last cards I'd ever sell if I had to, due to the rarity of the centering.

In the right light at the right angle, a small wax stain is barely visible along the bottom center border; perhaps that takes it from a 9 to a 7.

Nice cards, Matt.....I can't see what's wrong with that Seaver...looks like at least an 8 all day long. I am expecting some cards back from PSA today that I'll post, but in the meantime here's one I picked up for my "Should be in the Hall of Fame" Rookie Collection...

Default 1975 Topps Mini Pete Rose

A cheap upgrade to my set. I have seen worst off centered 1975s, so I will just think of it as PSA thought the field was off centered.
