Default Thrift shop find?

So, I'm in Maine and stumble across a 10 card uncut panel of 1957 cards. Nobody great on the panel, but it does include the Giles/Harridge card.... I didn't grab it but wondering if I should have. They wanted $12

I might go back. I am putting the '57 set together, wasn't sure if there was any actual scarcity to uncut '57 cards.

They're in a frame-amateur job

I'd go back. Even if it isn't worth a lot, for $12 dollars, it would be a pretty cool piece to have, imo.

Maybe you could negotiate it down to $10?

Thanks Duane. I've never seen another uncut sheet, so it made sense to go back for it.

I think it's nice, and the framing doesn't look bad either. Well worth $12!

You can't go wrong with that. For $12 at the worst you have a nice decorative item.

If I may be so bold to ask, but what part of Maine were you in? I'm out every weekend with my wife and never find cards other than the obligatory late 80's to early 90's junk.

Definitely worth it. Good job. Are you going to count those cards towards your set?

It would have cost more than 12 bucks to frame those. Nice pick up. I would have bought it too.

Very nice 10 card panel cut from a full sheet. Easily $12 worth of coolness even if it wasn't framed. Great pick up!

Maybe you should be taking Sean out. Those display cases you guys got was a good find. The rental truck/van story made me LOL.

No, not counting these toward the set. I actually have all of those cards except for the Harridge/Giles in my 1957 binder.

8 cards, my original post was from 'memory' as I had seen it at the store but didn't buy it until some encouragement from the board.

we sold a Mantle uncut partial sheet in awful condition at auction recently for $800 if memory serves. At $12 it was a steal.

Nice! It is a cool find, and literally in some small town Maine store...I wish there was a big name on the panel!

Yeah, the cases were a great score and the whole truck race just added to the day.

But I'm guessing Sean hasn't told you the story of what he found when we were at a seedy motel after a Sox game. I'm kinda leery of Sean's "finds" after that trip.
