Default Fake Slab and Card 1952 Topps Mantle

I don't think I have ever posted here but am fairly sure that the flip and card are no good.

Does anyone have any pull to get this chopped down?

Wow, I really wouldn't consider myself an expert on 52 Mantle's, but this really just does not look right. Good Catch. I hope that for the sake of the bidders this gets dealt with.

Yup, DEFINITE fake. The wonky colors aside, the Yankee's team logo is all wrong...far too detailed, far too precise. The baseball has indivdual stitches, whereas on an authentic example, they are far less defined, resembling red dots or ovals more than anything.

Also, the signature is too high. On an authentic example, the tail of "Y" in Mickey should be practically touching the inner border.

Also I'm pretty sure the left side is frosted (the seller has evidently tried to conceal this by putting it on a light colored background).

I'm messaging him right now, and reporting the auction. IIRC, if enough of us flag the auction, Ebay will automatically pull it down.

I got a reply from the seller, who gave me a classic non-denial denial, insisting it's "Not a crack," but never actually saying it's not a fake.

I don't know what he thinks a crack is, but I sure could see frosting on that holder, and anyways, the card is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Honestly I think this guy smells. If you all get a chance, PLEASE help by reporting this auction. The price is going up, and SOME poor schmuck with too much money, and not enough brains is gonna get taken for a ride!

the black border line is way too thick, especially along the top and left side

Oh my god the card sold! Some poor idiot just got suckered out of $7,000. Jeez, I've never owned a '52 Mantle, yet I know enough about them to spot a fake. They're born every minute, I guess.

Still, how to contact him? Just have to wait for him to leave feedback, and then I'll know who, and I can warn him.
