Default 1929 World Series Footage

Posted By: Mark

This clip begins with Flag Day 1930... the footage depicts fanfare and players raising the 1929 National League Flag at Wrigley Field. Can you imagine Players today participating in such an event?

Even better is the footage that follows... 1929 World Series at Wrigley Field (Game 1). At the 3:19 mark, Charlie Root is shown pitching to Max Bishop.

Howard Ehmke set a record for strikeouts in this game, which stood for decades. Check out the awesome images... Ehmke was a submariner (rare back then?) who was very effective. Some other great images of Hack Wilson, Connie Mack, etc.

Some high quality footage, considering its age. Be patient... this is worth the wait!

I would like to see todays players carrying the flag out to center field. I wish they made time travel, i would watch the games and then buy every thing that each player is wearing.
