Default FS: Massive Jeter Collection -- SOLD

Some of you may have seen this large Jeter collection piggybacked in a previous thread, but I am now ready to move it, and it probably deserves its own thread.

3 binders with about 150 pages full between them, with some pockets 2+ cards deep. Collector was compulsive about condition apparently, as binders look very good. There is an additional box full of about 200 top loaders with many copies of the rookies (no SP's), and serial numbered inserts. I'd estimate between 1600 - 2000 cards total.

I am mostly a Vintage guy, and the collection is so large that I don't have the time to individually price or sort this (I have another job, sadly!). I'm a private collector, but believe the breakup value is indeed high, and I've priced it according to the assumption that it can be broken up and sold for multiplied profit with some sweat equity. Certainly a private collector would instantly have a killer Jeter collection with this as well. The pics are truly just a random sampling of this dense collection.

This is part of an absolutely massive private collection put together by the former Athletic Director of a well-known prep school in Columbus, OH. The collection has been turned over to me to liquidate. It's been a blast to go through, with huge numbers of Jeter and Michael Jordan cards specifically, but also a number of other player collections. He was clearly careful in storing the cards in either albums or top loaders, even though the condition craze hadn't really hit the hobby when he did the bulk of his collecting. Interestingly, this means that there is really no late-career stuff with respect to Jeters either -- nearly everything is pre-2001 -- which I presume is a good thing.

The Jordan and Babe Ruth collections, and maybe some other lots, will be posted in future.
