As last years' winner I have safely protected the Network 54 Vintage Baseball Card Forum NCAA Basketball Bracket Champion trophy card , which I will be happy to forward on to the winner of this year's tournament. Just provide me the name and mailing address and it will be sent off to the winner. Good Luck !

I'll try to get in if we get a Net54baseball one, I don't want to offend the nonsports one, those guys are so civilized.

An can someone remind me of who it was that one last year? It took wise, insightful selecting last year to prevail. That winner had some strong picks.

I don't think those 4 1st round games on Tues & Wed count in the pool brackets I've seen.

Thanks Travis and John. I got way conservative this year, especially for a year where parity reigns everywhere. Oh well...

If anyone here had Morehead State over Louisville, call off the tournament and send the T206 Chase directly to them

in the other net 54 group (non sports), i picked morehead. i thought louisville was overrated this season....it also helped that the cardinals best player was out with a strain toe. i wasnt totally confident morehead could beat them, since in the net54 sports bracket i had them losing, but i knew louisville wouldnt get past richmond in the 2nd round.

Next year it would be good if the NCAA pool was set up a bit sooner. I suspect that this season's turnout might be fewer than last year.

Nice to hear, Barry - I got my Masters at BU.

Yesterday on Boston sports talk radio, Paul Pierce (a Kansas alum) was talking trash about BU. He said if BU were to beat Kansas today, he'd wear the Rhett the Terrier mascot outfit to a BU game, so there's another reason to cheer for BU!

Scott- I lived on West Campus my freshman year, Myles Standish as a sophomore, and had an apartment in Brookline my third. We had a great hockey team, and pretty good football team (Bruce Taylor was the star), but basketball was nonexistent.

Not too much has changed, Barry - hockey is usually still great, although football is the non-existent program now, and basketball is improving.

Agganis Arena is a fantastic venue, and the whole complex is the nicest we have in Boston, aside from the new Garden...

Agganis Arena doesn't sound familiar. I was there 1969-72. Did it exist then?

Barry, Agganis Arena opened about five years ago. It's a 6,000-7,000 seat arena for the hockey team, and also hosts concerts, etc. It's an awesome facility, and obviously named after the great BU alum, Harry Agganis.

Hi Barry - Living in Richmond and having attended VCU back in the early 90's may make me a little biased, but to answer your question after watching the game today I think it's possible.

It is certainly possible and I think they will get by Butler to advance to the championship game, but I still have my fingers crossed for the Heels.

Tim- VCU didn't just win the game, they completely outplayed Kansas from start to finish. Kansas couldn't hit the three, they couldn't make their foul shots, they couldn't handle VCU's defense, and they looked tired and out of sync. A team who didn't even belong in the tournament demolished one of the best teams in the country, under tremendous pressure.

Very proud of VCU! My alma mater (Towson) is in their same conference. George Mason (2006) and Virginia Commonwealth (2011) representing the CAA!

They did the same thing to Purdue (my alma mater). It's impressive how much they take their opponents out of their game. I'm pulling for them all the way. What a great story that would be!

Barry--

ESPN had 5.9 million brackets filled out. The guy that's leading has the Final Four correct. What we DON'T know is how many 100's of different sheets he filled out to start with!

Fred- I find it impossible to believe that anyone could have gotten that final four correct. He picked VCU against Butler? How?

I do know that none of those 5.9 million got the sweet 16 right.

Edited to add I assumed you could only fill out one sheet of brackets. But even if you filled out hundreds that's an awfully tough pick.

Default Barry--

I filled out 2 --I for Net54 & 1 for Net54 NonSpt. I think you can fill out 10 per ID, but believe me, some of those bracket junkies fill out bunches of them using many ID's, just trying to cover many different scenarios such as this!

Really interesting Final Four. 4 teams full of players with heart. 2 class coaches and 2 slimeballs. I'm pulling for the VCU/Butler winner but am afraid that one of the two shaddiest coaches in the NCAA is going to hoist the trophy. Shame.
