Default My daughter gets hitting tips from an ex major leaguer

My12 year old daughter has been playing youth softball since she was 5.She plays spring, summer and fall leagues. The last couple of years she has been doing indoor winter clinics also. This year she made year Jr.high team. She starts and plays 2nd and 3rd base. She has always been a good hitter up until this year. She is putting a lot of pressure on herself.I tell her to relax, and give her some tips, but I'm dad and don't know what I'm talking about.
I do a lot of TTM's.Some guys are really great about answering questions, some aren't.Johnny Grubb is one of the great ones.I have sent a ball and card to him in the past, and he always took the time to answer my questions. He had mentioned in one of the letters that he was a batting coach for the Silver Bullet girls baseball team.
Since my daugher won't listen to me,may be she would listen to someone that played in the majors.I wrote to him about how she is trying to hard at the plate, and asked if he had any advice.Today I got a response. He wrote about how his son was the same when he tried to give him advice when he played. He also wrote a seprate letter to my daughter .Lots of advice about patience, staying under control, what to do when she's behind in the count, ahead in the count, and not over thinking when she's batting. The last thing he wrote was what Sparky Anderson would say "Its not so much what you do,but how you go about doing it".
She was so happy that a major league player gave advice. When she woke up this morning she had no idea who Johnny Grubb was. Now,after she read the letter, she researched him and knows more about his career than I do.
There are still some good people out there.Mr.Grubb really brightened my daughters day!!

When I was younger I used to write MLers for advice. None of them ever wrote back. However, I still have a handwritten response from a 19yo Josh Hamilton.
