Default 1949 Bowman unopened seller had more vintage boxes

The consignor of the 1949 Bowman partial box (and the others from the late 50s and early 60s) had MORE. No '49 Bowman but an amazing trove nonetheless: http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...oming-auction/

My guess is that there could be even more.....probably more from the late 60s into the early/mid 70s. This is turning out to be one of the most significant finds in recent years.

LOL. Of course they were known about but both likely knew, if numerous boxes were released at the same time then less interest, and of course less money would be brought in as it would take away from the rare/scarce factor.

"Company President Brian Drent made a second visit to the consignor’s home last week to bring in the new batch. It wasn’t immediately clear if the boxes were discovered after the consignor signed over the first batch of boxes or were held back until the first group had been sold"

An unopened pack of Topps Test BKB is beyond belief really.

That 68 Basketball Test pack is intriguing if only to determine if the insert actually exists!

Just goes to show that "finds" like this still happen, even if they are comparatively rare compared to the frequency in the 1980's. Why I can only have dreams about this type of thing instead of it actually happening to me...I'm not quite sure.

That's possible of course, but I bought stuff from a really big collection over the course of maybe 4-5 years. And even at the end, I was finding stuff that I hadn't seen before. And I'm pretty thorough about getting into any space I'm allowed access to.
