Default 1976 Card Show, Brooks Robinson

Just found this buried in boxes of stuff my wife and I have been dragging around for decades. 1976 card show. Where is Redman Hall? Did I attend? Frankly I have no freaking idea. I was 13. Odd.

Steve,

That’s pretty cool! I think I may have one of those as well, not absolutely sure, but sure looks familiar. If I do I sure wouldn’t know where to look; I’m a tad unorganized. I’d like to see if it has the same writing on it or is it the same at all. If I don’t have it it’s one of cool items to acquire just for fun.

Dave is correct. Redman Hall is in Baltimore, MD.

So, were you in Baltimore at that time frame?

Definitely was not.
My only guess is that I was in Cooperstown at the time and someone was advertising this card show in Baltimore. But really a wild guess.
So odd when something like this happens and you are at a loss to understand how the heck you ended up with something.

And maybe it was just card 1976and that isn’t the year.

Actually, there are Redman Halls and Railroad Avenues in Maine and Alabama as well... do those work?

If I were to take a guess, at this point, 1976 may not be the year of the piece. While I’m sure Brooks did some signings during his career I’m unsure he would have done a card show, for three days, during the time (it’s possible though). I’m thinking that 1976 may have been the number for the “prize” if you handed this advertisement “at the door”? The 1976 written may mean something else as well, but possibly not the year of the card show. Therefore, it’s possible you went to a card show in Baltimore a different year?

Nah, never was at a card show at anyone of those places.

My best guess is I went to a Cooperstown induction ceremony in about 1980 and must have picked this up there, as someone was advertising a show or just giving these out.

If anyone is a Brooksie fan and wants it will be happy to drop in an envelope.

Default Cooperstown

Redman Hall is in Cooperstown. I did the show there in 1983 which was the year Brooks went in to the Hall. Great show but it was on the second floor of Redman's Hall. The show moved to a different location a few years after that.

I attended most of the shows in 1975 and 1976 in the Baltimore Washington area and do not recall any shows in Baltimore in 1976. Brooks did sign in 77 or 78 but I think that was Silver Spring..
