Safest way to send cards to psa???

If someone has a bunch of cards, say a hundreds that might total $20,000 to $40,000 in value, what is the safest way to send them to get graded?

Can you send to PSA needing a signature thru the post office? Should they be sent registered mail? Or what?

How about smaller batches worth $5,000 to $10,000? How do you guys do it?

I am just so hyper about cards disappearing never to be seen again!!!!

Send registered. Break it up if it makes you sleep better, but registered is the way to go.

Definitely registered and fully insured, or better yet, in person at a show or for 40k worth fly them out there yourself and make an appointment on one of their public days.

What are they REALLY worth currently? I see that you state "that might total $20,000 to $40,000 in value," but is that the expected value or if everything exceeded your expectations?

If they are realistically worth $20-40K, then deliver them at the National or a major on-site location or ship them in several packages in a manner that makes you most comfortable.

For $20-40K in value, I'd say you've just given yourself a really good excuse to go to National, and hand deliver those cards to PSA. If you have really expensive single cards, you can also go to National and get them graded onsite, so you have the card back in your hands that weekend.

Or even that day. Few years ago at the National in Chicago, I got a ton of HoF rookies signed and got them slabbed and graded within an hour or so.

Registered mail is the safest. It is the way jewelers ship their wares, so I have heard.

fedex overnight*


second choice would be registered, but only if over $50k.

echoing the sentiments of the "jewelers post".

most of them usually use fedex until it hits that monetary threshold.




* use third party insurance.
usually the absurd cost of "fedex insurance" on a $40K package (to and fro)
will pay for a yearly collectibles insurance policy.
and typically said insurance policy covers items during transit.
