Default Legendary Auctions opens 2/17

I put my collection of Topsy Hartsel cards up for auction. You don't know how much that hurt. Nobody in my family could care less about some old baseball cards. The market isn't doing bad but the newer collectors just don't have the same passion for the older cards. Because of that I don't know what the future is for these older cards. It includes numerous T206 backs, E254, E270, S74, D359,T208, J=K, E92, E97, Cuban Punch Ciggarros, W600-PSA NM-MT8, and many other T and E cards. There is also a collection of 70 signed balls including Mantle, DiMaggio and Williams. A collection of 27 signed Hockey pucks including Clark and Parent. A1905 Reach No1 M Mushroom bat. There is alittle for everybody that may be looking for that special type card to fill a collection. Thanks and good luck to all.

I received the catalog on Valentine's day. Prior to leaving for our reservations I was looking through the catalog with my wife. I told her that it seems sad to see a nice collection with such a specific subject get split up was sad to see.

I hope that the sale goes well for you, but I am sad that no one else appreciated the effort put into the collection and wanted to hold on to it in the family.

Default Update to auction

All items have had atleast one bid except for 1. This is a suprise to me. The one card is an E97 Hartsel. This is a little rarity in it is the correct spelling of his name. The more common card uses the spelling Hartsell. I hope everyone atleast checks my collection. It was a great time collecting. I wish everyone the best.

Can you post a link? What led you to collect this specific player?

I am sure he will answer, but Legendary answers this question:

The offerd collection of Topsy Hartsel baseball cards and related ephemera was painstakingly put together over the past 30 years by his great-grandnephew, who attempted to collect literally every different baseball card that Topsy was pictured on

Default My family connection

Topsy was my Grandmother's Uncle. My Aunt years ago gave me an autograph
she had gotten as a child. That is what started everything.

It really, truly, is sad that this collection is getting split up and that no one else in the family would recognize the family history that you were helping preserve.

Since you focused on just Hartsel and you brought up the specific card. Did you really find the 1 "L" e97 harder to find? I ask because I see that SGC weights the card higher making it seem like it is hard to find, yet SCD shows the 2"L" variation is higher in price and have found some discussions showing that the 2"L" variation is harder. I don't know enough about the set and you obviously would have been focused on just his cards so I assume you would know.

Default 1 or 2 L's

I've only seen 2 with the correct spelling with the single L. There are more out there. The LL has always been in my opinion the easiest to find. When I got mine the single L was more expensive by far if you could find it.
