Default Help Identifying This Autograph

This is a photocopy of a 1969 Mets autograph sheet my friend owns. We were having trouble identifying one of the autographs. The one the mini samurai sword is pointing to (between Bud Harrelson and Tom Agee). Also, is that Al Weis next to this mystery autograph? Thanks in advance!

I am thinking Art Shamsky but I'd like someone else to confirm it. I'm not 100%. Also, just curious how many people signed the '69 mets item? is your friend selling it? thanks

Hey 3and2 - Definitely not Art Shamsky as is his autograph is directly above Nolan Ryan's. My friend is not looking to sell at this time. All of the signatures are an official Mets letter head and total 15.

I don't think it's Jack Dilauro - he has a very legible signature that looks nothing like the one posted above.

I think it's New York City mayor John Lindsay.

Rick,

Job well done! Your help is much appreciated. I told my friend and he was very glad to solve this little mystery. He says he acquired the piece from his uncle who got the signatures from a Mets scout named Whitey. Chances are this was Whitey Herzog.

Glad to help.

Herzog was the guy who said his team needed just two players to be a contender...Babe Ruth and Sandy Koufax!

I have one thing to add. The Ryan signature is absolutely a clubhouse version, not even close to what Ryan's sig looked like during the Mets era. I am an advanced Ryan collector and have been collecting him since 1972.
I hope this helps!
