Default N172 cards have players who could have been active in the military

during the Civil War. Obtaining military cards which show High ranking personnel is not difficult, however, cards which depict actual front line soldiers is not as easy. Does anyone know how to go about determining which n172 players served in this War?

because in order to be in the civil war one would have to have been born no later than 1849 and that assumes he entered the war at the end (1865) and was 16. That would make him about 38 or 40 for the 1887 N172. Guess it is possible but if you change any of the parameters its unlikely.

I know there are some of the managers in the set that served in the Civil War, but it is not likely with the players. Having said that, I would bet there are one or two.

But remember, some men (boys) faked their ages to get in and some boys were drummers. Whether they (the drummers) actually fought is another story but they oculd have been in battles.

So, an 8 year-old in 1865 would be 31 in 1888.

The Rebs reportedly used boy soldiers as gaurds at the Andersonville prison of war camp.
