Default Another Reason To Love NYC

Dear Board Members

Should you live in and around NYC and/or if you are planning
to visit NYC between now and October 26,2008 we urge you to visit
The New York Public Library (42nd Street and 5th Avenue)

There is a world class exhibit of great photographs of the
Yankees and Yankee Stadium. The photos are from the archives
of New York's largest selling newspaper, The Daily News.
The small, but delightful exhibit is cosponsored by
BankAmerica and The Daily News.

For additional information visit www.nypl.org

Best of all the price of admission is FREE!

Enjoy the exhibit and watch for the Yankees to win in it all
next year at the world's greatest stadium.

Thanks in part to Bruce's heads-up about the Museum of the City of New York's exhibit, The Glory Days: New York Baseball 1947-1957, which ran last year (link to MCNY's past exhibits: http://tinyurl.com/4rvfjp ; note that they are in the process of making a Glory Days website), we (my wife and I) included a visit to the museum as part of our itinerary whilst we were in NYC last fall. It was brilliant! I am inferring that the NYPL Daily News display would be worth a look, too, and regret that another east coast trip is not in the cards for the McDonald Hyphen Vander Kooys. Hope you New Yawkahs check it out.

". . . with every home run ball that flew over the walls and bounced onto the streets of the Bronx." Correct me if I'm wrong but that would be zero home run balls. http://tinyurl.com/459dj7

"and watch for the Yankees to win in it all next year at the world's greatest stadium."

Unfortunately, the "world's greatest stadium" will be torn down next year.

And for that sin, the Yankees will never win it all in that limestone monstrosity that was built of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich.

New York is great, but that exhibition would probably be something I'd be forced to view in hell.

Yankees suck.

As a die hard Mets fan I will still check it out as the Yankees fascinate me. It is ironic that unless I am wrong both clubs had the same record the last 2 years. Baseball in NY is the best but as a Giant and Ranger season ticket holder I will be occupied but nothing beats opening day in New York. CN
