Default Early E-cards - Where do they go from here?

Thought I'd start a prewar card thread and was recently thinking about early E cards. They seem to have been meandering since the end of the caramel craze. I'm by no means an expert but wanted to ask those that collect them diligently, has popularity/demand waned, increased or stayed flat over the last few years?

I would think there would be an uptick in popularity/demand due to their overall relative scarcity. But it doesn't seem like a lot have come up for auction over the last couple years. So are they being kept stashed away? Maybe more has come to market than I realize and just haven't seen it.

Also, I'm curious to know if there was a good selection of them at the National?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and insight.

Feel free to share any early E's that may be "stashed" away in your collection.

Same here, but let's keep them quiet a little longer

In all seriousness, even the most common are much more difficult than t206.

Definitely love the Honus Wagner E cards as some of his other cards from his playing days are out of my price range. I think I've owned an E95, E91 and I currently have an E102. I'm not sure on E cards in general, but HOF E cards should always be pretty steady. However, I've never seen a dramatic price increase for them

Early E cards just don't get the love they used to.

I only have a few E cards but it seems to me that the non-major HOFers have been pretty flat since I got back in to collecting in 2014.

Default My only signed e-card

And it definitely is "stashed away" among its signed tobacco brothers. This beauty was sold among all the signed T206 cards from the Great Pittsburgh Find of 2007.

Oh and I think in the future...big name Hofer e cards will continue to rise...albeit at a slower rate than more mainstream issues. But the days of crazy priced common types is behind us I believe.

Default E96?

No love for E96?

Only 30 cards, neat red print checklist on the backs, and Connie Mack! Great attainable set.

When one completes E96, then what?

Seek out its E95 brother with all the heavy hitters (Cobb, Matty, Wagner, etc.)

Default Where are the E126 Collectors?

E cards were all candy and gum before 1933.....I can't remember the last time someone came up to me at a show and asked if I had any E126 American Caramels? (most have a printed back unlike the one shown).....there are around 40 on the bay and my guess is most, except the bigger HOFers, don't move very quickly..This one is a boomerang from the first collection.

I'm rather fond of this card. The Brucii might suggest this fits the bill of ultra high grade, given that it's the highest graded E104-III.

I also rather like that this card came from Dan Gannt, with whom I traded nearly 15 years ago for my first high grade E104-III and T206 proof card

Sometimes a signed card looks like the card was made to be signed, right where the subject signed it. This is one of those for sure.
