Won the 1922 E121 American Caramel Babe Ruth Photo Montage PSA 3. I know a SGC 40 went for about a third of what I paid in the Heritage auctions a few months back, but this PSA 3 had much better eye appeal to me than the SGC 40. How much did I get raked on this one?

I was going to bid $6K for this one, but I knew someone who was going to bid higher, so I didn't bid. He got blown out of the water - final bid 11K+

I won the e90-3 gandil. Paid a lot, but waited for a while for one to show up. Now, I just need one more (payne if anyone's wondering)for that lovely set!

Of course, today I see another gandil on ebay now. Yeah right, rare.

CMOKING. Nice Ruth card, are you kidding about bidding on that Goudey? $6000 is ridiculous for that card, its not even a low number. Don't get sucked into the low pop game you will get burned.

my last count a couple months ago showed that Pat Malone was the toughest Goudey in the grades I cared - PSA 6 or higher. But the card went for double my ridiculous 6K bid - final bidder's price was probably 13K after buyer's fee.

$11K for the Malone? Cronin only fetches a tad over $2K though. That's nice. Registry still gets a five.

Nice job on the three OJ's. I wanted Piano Legs real bad but someone wanted it worse.

Got blown out on a T209, won a post war card I needed.
The card I won was several bids below my max, always comforting when that happens. And that fact that Bill takes credit cards (or ATM in my case) made it easy to square the account first thing this morning.
A few sleepers in the auction, overall a pretty good experience.

Had my legs swept out from under me. I was lulled in to a false sense of security on some SGC 88 and PSA 8 M116s which I was lead bidder on and under my max going in to the 15 minute rule. On 3 of them, there was only one other bidder who was allowed to bid after the rule went in to affect and he must really have wanted them because I drove the prices way up and didn't get a sniff of the lead.
M116 Sailor Stroud for almost $1500 with the juice? All the cards I mention went for at least double my estimate. I think I ran in to a condition/graded freak as opposed to an M116 collector.
By the way, someone explain the E93 Joss 5 going for close to $1800 with the juice, please? You can have mine for that.
Oh well, as Scarlett said, tomorrow is another day...

Went o-fer the auction. Bid on some OJs and was high bidder on an A&G until about an hour before the end. Was high bidder on a couple Plows but the bids zoomed by me.

Still stubbornly refusing to overpay.......
