Default 1953 Topps Key Cards Question

Should card #280 of Milt Bolling be considered a key card in the set? From what I read it was single printed and being prone to the rubber band made me think it should be despite not being a star. Anyone know the population report for 7 or higher grades? Thanks

Default 7+

There are 96 cards on PSA pop report at 7 or above, with 62 of them being graded "7". The population is 477. I didn't check SGC or BVG.

Bolling usually does command a slight premium in mid-low grades if for no other reason than him being a high number, Red Sox and the last card.
But this card is among the highest population overall, almost double the amount of graded cards for other high number commons. It doesn't look too short-printed by these numbers.

I remember having trouble finding Johnny Riddle in that set, and a lot of trouble upgrading him. The pop for him is just 245.

Of course, this doesn't tell the whole story, I don't own a single PSA graded 1953 Topps anyway...i put the set together years ago (low grade) and it wasn't very difficult in the scheme of things.

If you are Looking for a Bolling already PSA graded, and above 7, it looks like you've got just 34 chances...in the raw world I'd venture to say there are at least 5 times that in dealer lots or collections.

Best of luck, its a great set!
