Default Most wins in a season without starting a game?

I used Roy Face on my Immaculate Grid today and looked at his stats after. In 1959 he went 18-1 without starting a single game. Has anyone ever won more than 18 games in a season without starting a single game?

My guess would be no, although Jim Konstanty had 16 wins entirely out of the pen in 1950.

That's a lot of wins, and 18 is indeed the most.

A couple of guys had 17 wins, and a few had 16 and so on.

Good use of Roy Face on your Immaculate Grid by the way.

Very cool. Winning 18 out the pen is incredible. I was wondering if maybe there was some obscure 20 game winner out there.

I should have remembered both Bill Campbell's 17 from 1976 and Tom Johnson's 16 the following year, since I witnessed each of them pitch those years. Probably wiped Soup from my memory once he bolted to the hated Red Sox.

I would have guessed John Hiller but he only won 17.
