Default mini Cubs pennant question

Posted By: Alan Elefson

Hi-
Please see the scan below of this mini Cubs pennant. Could anyone post the year/manufacturer of issuance? I know I have seen these before, but I have no clue as to howold, etc. Also, any idea of an approximate value? I found this one at a flea market (what else is new) inside a box of Cub Scout memorabilia.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson

Default mini Cubs pennant question

Alan, looks like a 1936-37 BF3 Mini-Pennant. They were produced by the Red Ball candy company amongst others, and were given away with the purchase of gum. There are several varieties known with some representing teams and others having player names/figures on them.

Default mini Cubs pennant question

The Cub pennant is a rather rare type 5 BF3. Unfortunately there is not a great demand for BF3s, rare or not. I bought that exact pennant a few years ago on eBay for about 15 to 20 dollars. Depending on whose bidding,it might sell for up to 30 dollars in that condition, maybe more if you could find a couple of cub fans. Nice find. It is only the second one I have ever seen.
