Default Joe DiMaggio on 1936 Scorecard

I have received a 1936 Yankees Scorecard/Program with Joe DiMaggio listed as a player and the signature seen below. It has similarities as well as major differences from his array of signatures over the decades. Opinions?

Default question

Authenticity aside..... why would someone put "1936" in front of their signature? If real, it very well may have been done at a much later date.....

Joe DiMaggio's signature varied dramatically from early versions to the one's we are most used to seeing that were signed at Card Shows. Sorry to say this matches NONE of them and is not even close to what his signature looked like in 1936.

Thanks that was my opinion as well, but wanted to make sure it was not an early version that I was missing...

Early example, Early on he used the "tail" at the end of the "o" and usually the dot. Later he stopped using the loop on "o" but his sister still did when signing his name.
