Default Recent Purchase of 1933 Goudey Gehrig: Opinions welcome.

I recently made a "buy it now" purchase of a 1933 Goudey. I almost never do BIN purchases. It wasn't the most researched of my purchases, and it may have been a bit hasty, but I thought it was a decent deal at the time, so I pulled the trigger.

Its a 1933 Goudey #92 in SGC 70. It has strong color and corners, no creases, and good, but not great centering. Its main fault in my opinion is it isn't the whitest and cleanest of cards in this grade. But it is a beauty and I love it.

I'm really interested in what you think about what I bought it for: $1950. Recent ebay auctions had a psa 5 #160 going for $1425, a stronger #92 for $2150, and a #92 SGC 60 for $1912.

So be brutally honest, let me know what you think about the price I paid for this card.

Thanks!

That's pretty much all that matters right there. Great pickup!

Very nice looking...solid for the grade, I would be very happy with that card.

Awesome card - I'll be lucky if I ever have a Gerhrig as nice as that in my '33 Goudey set.

P.S. - I hope you used Bing Cashback.

Thanks for the input guys, I was pretty sure it was a good deal but I wanted to check.

By the way, has anyone noticed a value difference between the #92 and the #160 Gehrig?

The #160 seems to carry a little more of a premium but it all depends on who is selling when, but I believe that the #160 is a little tougher to come by.

I agree - my understanding is that the #160 is the tougher card, but only slightly so.

Don't envy snow white borders, that just means the card has been cleaned up. Nice pickup.

I think you got a good deal. I paid significantly more for my SGC 80.
...not much difference grade wise between a 5.5 and a 6, ya know?

BTW, I agree with the others that the #160 carries a touch of a price premium compared to the #92.
