No one can even seem to agree on how many cards are in the set, let alone possess them all.
Don't know the ACC number for Allegheny's, but that would have to be on there.

W601 Sporting Life Postcard set of 16 is real tough. I've been looking for ten years for the Detroit to complete my set. (I do however know that it exists and who has one and have been assured that I'm in the Will. Right, Dan?)

The Ullman postcard set of 12 likewise is extremely tough.

There are probably dozens of sets that nobody has ever completed, and Leon's four choices are near the top.

Try to complete the three card Red Stocking cigar set. You couldn't get all three if you lived to a hundred.

Allegheny is a set of 112, is unique, was broken up long ago. I would say that it would be virtually impossible to put it back together.

E271 Darby Chocolates. A certain dealer claimed, about 10-15 years ago, that two complete sets exist. Dennis Purdy of VCBC offered, I believe, $1000 to anyone who could prove they owned a complete set. He still has the $1000.

Of the sets that have cards that are numbered, where we know how many make up a set.

The Holland Ice Cream, Maple Crispette, Crescent Ice Cream, US Caramel, and other similar sets will be the toughest. There can only be 1-3 of each set made since they all have a short print card that is only known to exist with 1-3 examples.

Here's one:

Schapira Brothers (not the Babe Ruth set). It is the set that has the Black and White pictures of the players. I will post examples in another post on this board.

I know there's a few more then 50 cards but since were mentioning really tough sets, does it really get any tougher then G & B Gum? Its not a huge set, less then 100 known, but these are very scarce.
Edited to add Alpha engraving, and any of other super scarce cabinets

Baltimore News set (the blue background E94 wannabes), forget the card designation.
D311s although I'm not that sure how many are in the set, I just know I only have about half of them and haven't progressed any in the last year.
I also want to throw in the 1911 Zeenut set because of the Bohen card.

is tough but not impossible. There are 72 cards, 12 from each of the six teams.
