Default DiMaggio help

Any thoughts on this DiMaggio autograph that I recently purchased? Looks a little ragged to me.

Thanks much.

it's a mess is what it is, forget ragged... What would even compel you to spend a red cent on this? Just curious how fools are parted from their money

My thought is "Why did you purchase it?"

While it does look awful, something struck me..

From the "o" to the end of the signature is one continuous line. This seems like a very unusual choice for a forger to make. Especially considering it is not something Joe D typically did with his sitting autographs.

Yet, it does seem like something someone would do if firing off a quick autograph while walking or in a crowd. Is it possible this could be authentic?

Here's my take.

It is authentic, but why would you want it?

Good one, Shelly.

That Joe D. is definitely authentic.

Thanks very much for the input. I bought the item because I liked the image, it is ex-Christie's (when DiMaggio was alive), and it came from a reputable auction house who will take it back if I don't like it. When I bid on it, my initial thought was that it was a rushed, on-the-run autograph. But my guess is that no authenticator will touch it, so it is almost irrelevant whether it is real or not.

Is this a one of a kind image? If it is ok if not send it back
Has any person on this site ever had Joe sign for him or her on the run?

It is a unique image that I have never seen so I am partial to it. But I understand that its poses an authentication/resale problem. Maybe it is not an on-the-run autograph - maybe it's just sloppy. Everyone has an off day.
