Help with ID's late 1940's Yankees Photo
I always enjoy reading these ID threads, now I have one that stumps me.
Any thoughts on players here. I know l-r Coleman, Woodling, Berra, Rizzuto. McDougald by Woodling. Is it Cliff Mapes r of Berra? The big guy in front looks like Ralph Branca to me

Yep, That's Branca in the front.
The guy next to Yogi is, I believe, Charlie Silvera. See: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Charlie-Silv...item19c2d408c1 |

Also looks like Bob Grim on the right next to the guy with the sunglasses.
See: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yankee-Bob-G...item20da754843 Confused by the photo. I know it says Lodi, NJ, but I don't think there are palm trees in Lodi!!! Which leads me to think this was taken at spring training However, if this was taken when Branca was with the Yankees, he was only there from July until October 1954 when he was released. Unless they invited him to spring training in early 1955. Last edited by whiteymet; 11-03-2013 at 09:48 PM. |

The woody stationwagon in back ground appears to be of about 1954 style, possible a Mercury. The "54 Monterey SW has the same style back window.
Also, last guy on left wearing a tie may be Eddie Lopat.
