Default The Ruth hits just keep on coming.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/babe-ruth-si...3D252527680409

You have to grimace when a seller say:

"Signed Babe Ruth baseball that's been in its display case since the day it was signed. Does not come with certificate of authenticity however my great uncle personally had Babe Ruth sign this ball and it's been passed down to me so I don't doubt it's genuine what so ever. This ball is being sold as is. I will not accept returns or refunds. My loss is your gain. Don't pass this up."

In a case since the day it was signed? Really,, I did not know they used plastic ball cubes in Ruth's era.
My great uncle had Ruth sign?,,, and he is rolling over in his grave now.
Does not come with certificate of authenticity? Why not? Perhaps Sperling was busy that day?
I don't doubt it is genuine?,, well you are the only one.
I will not accept returns?,, words guaranteed to instill confidence in a buyer.

This one gets five Pinocchio noses.

Looks better than some on eBay BUT the ball has a "49" on it . It must be the year the uncle got it signed by Ruth , the infamous from the grave signature .

I gotta tell ya, I don't like the big $$$ that PSA and JSA certified stuff brings,(nor their sometimes sketchy history of success), But if I were buying a high $$$ auto I would demand their approval or AT LEAST come to ya'll. This place is so great (and trustworthy)

Mostly I just collect Braves autographed balls and bats from the 70's to the early 2000's, but when I finally decide to replace my Aaron and Matthews autos, I will be passing them through here before purchase!

really, who buys a raw Ruth ball for that kinda $$$ and just thinks "looks good to me!"

Those people are the same ones who have kept Coaches Corner in business for years
