Default Lowest price for a Babe Ruth autograph?

There's a thread on Facebook talking about how Stan Lee is charging $100 for an autograph at next weekend's New York Comic Con, but he's signed so many over the years that his signature will never be rare and valuable.

I commented that when it comes to collecting it's supply and demand that rules. I used Babe Ruth as an example - he signed tons of autographs during his lifetime, and a Babe Ruth autograph is not rare, but it's certainly not cheap.

In posting the above, I became curious, and this leads into my question for you: what is the lowest price that someone can expect to pay for a genuine Babe Ruth autograph? This is a scenario where the autograph is the thing and it doesn't matter what the signed item actually is. (My guess is that the cheapest signature would be one that was cut from a piece of paper, so "raw" it just presents as a scrap of paper with "Babe Ruth" written on it.)

Thanks!

I'd venture a guess of about $2,000 for one that you can see.
