Nice pickup for sure, I sure missed those or I would have bid. I have a few of each of the backs, Ill try to get a post up on them later tonight.

Also the Evers and Furillo are from the 1947-66 Exhibit set

Ive had only 2 of them over the years, one of the scarcer of the many different printed/stamped back exhibits.

I was the underbidder, wonder if we were the only 2 who put good bids on them??

I knew Id have slim chance because the seller put the back pic as the thumbnail and I saw that at least 40+ saw the auction before I even saw them ;(

Oh well, nice to see you got them, very cool cards

they are really from 1947++ or so, as 2 of yours are not the salutation type and DiMaggio and Greenberg were issued after 1946 (DiMaggio well into the 50's)

Furillo is good for the date, as he started in 1946

My snipe was multiples higher than the winning bid as I needed them for their backs, especially. Also, the 2011 Krause doesn't list the Joe Dimaggio or Hank Greenberg in the 1947-1966 set. That is what I went by, do they have it wrong?

As far as the years, its really should be just one set from 1939-1966. They are splint into two sets but many Salutations were issued along with the others after 1946. They were still printing the Salutations Ted Williams well into the 60's.

Nice pick up Leon. I have one with that back...front is Bobby Thomson.

I also have a George Kell with a Cow Sucker offer stamp on the back.

Still learning on these....
On the Salutation design......
Williams "no9" (1960), Feller "pitching" (1952), DiMaggio (1952), Holmes (1949), Marion (1949), and a few others were printed after 1946, some well into the 50's like what was mentioned, Williams is seen on the uncut 1960 sheet so was at least printed that year if not a couple times earlier in 1950's as well

exhibits are interesting trying to figure all this out. the Post Gazette cards are interesting, these 4 you got Leon were the first time I noticed they had the 2 types. Not an expert at all on them.

quick examples...
DiMaggio was printed in 1952 for sure, dont know about any other years. All the 1952s are B&W thats how to date them, the others can be dated by the size of the MADE IN USA, Made in USA, PRINTED IN USA, Printed in USA, or by "An Exhibit Card" in corner (1949)

example of the 1952 DiMaggio (B&W)

example of a ca.1946 one, sepia color

There's plenty of hard evidence to prove this...why the resistance? Is it sacrilege to rewrite history?

My computer locked up as I was trying to bid, which saved Leon same coin.

I have exhibits w/ Dad's Cookies backs and Triple Nickel Books backs. I've seen another, can't remember what it was. Anyone have any to post, or know of any others???

I've got a boxing exhibit with Sports Hobbyist advertising on the back

I have some of the 1959 Nu Card television westerns cards with Long Island Lighting ads on their backs. Here is an example:
