Default Can a TPG4 have a tack hole?

Does this PSA4 have a repaired tack hole on the bottom? Sure looks like it to me. It is visible from the back too! I have seen card doctors "tamp down" a hole with the blunt end of a straight pin. Ugh! Dave Pierson ps Maybe I'll give em a call for a hands on description.

I have seen PSA 4s with tack holes before. On this particular card, what makes you think it's a tack hole though? I'm not saying it's not, but it looks like it could be a stain as well.

If anything but a 1 is allowed a tack hole then this grade has to be explained:

(I no longer own the card)

I am by no means sure, but it looks kind of suspect because it matches up with the back. Have to loupe it to be sure. Let me also add that 707 is great and Levi has always treated me well. Fantabulous inventory, a little pricey, but always ready to deal.
You mention you have seen 4s with tack holes? Does a card with a tack hole technically fit the criteria for a 4? If so, I am surprised. Dave

Per PSA grading standards, the only grade that mentions the term "destructive defect " is a 1. A pin hole, or a hole made by a tack fits that terminology in my opinion.

Holy Crap is that '49 Coleman sharp...

For a short period there, I got bored and I picked up a few psa 1's. I guess I was thinking about doing an all PSA1 type card collection. Don't worry, that idea faded quickly. Anyways, I picked up a PSA 1 from the '61 Topps set(I can't remember which player off the top of my head). The card literally looked like it could've been a 9, but had the smallest of pinholes..Small enough that I couldn't figure out why the card was a 1 until it was in hand..

So yeah, I think pin holes are an automatic 1, no matter what the rest of the card looks like..

Default Tack holes.

That goes to show you why PSA is a third rate grading agency.

They must have become a lot more strict by the time mine was graded 7million cards later or I just wasn't considered a client worth catering too.
