Default New trend on ebay? Paypal scam

Posted By: Mrc32

I have seen this a couple of times, but never before this obvious. This seller should know it is against Paypal rules to pull this type of stuff.

He is adding a 3% fee to the final sales price to cover his Paypal fees

And with a 3% surcharge, he is making money on the deal. Not much, but it's still more than it costs him. I already filed a complaint against him beucase it clearly states in the seller rules you cannot do this. eBay has a catagory for reporting just such offenses.

different banks charge differnt merchant rates. PayPal charges 30 cents plus 2.2%. I have yet to see a commercial bank that can match that rate. The best we could get for my comic store was 3.5% for MC/Visa and 6% for Amex (which we didn't take becuase of the rate).

If you make use of PayPal's debit card, you get 1.5% cash, thus lowering your rate to measly .7%. Then throw in the interest that you earn on the money you keep in your account and is costs you almost nothing to take PayPal as a form of payment.
