Default September Pickups

It's a brand new month, meaning new card acquisitions are to be made!

A tough E99 and one of the tougher E90-1s, the Leach variation.
Thanks to Quan and Gary N.

I'd love to post on this thread, but no one will sell me the 3 Old Judge cards that I need for the 1887 Detroit team.

Hi Mike. Nope, that set almost killed me the first time, I'll leave that to some other collector with more patience than I have I still have plenty to do with finishing the E94 master set (close), Domino Disc set (close), D311 set (close) and working on the T210 set (not so close)

Daryl,

Not sure. I've been working on an autographed team set of the 1919
Chicago White Sox team.

http://www.psacard.com/DNASETREGISTR...set.aspx?s=636

The remaining autographs are at best sparse, so completing the team
will be near impossible.

As far as card collecting goes, I don't really have any specific goals at
the moment.

Anyone got any ideas?

Just picked this up... one of the harder T206 Slers with a Hindu Back.. only 2 graded by SGC and 4 graded by PSA.

Very happy to cross this one off the list as I go for the subset..

The T215 was a surprise addition, only one other example listed. The Sovereign is an upgrade. Thanks to Adam G for spotting both of these at the National.

With many graded, it's more than a pile, at some point I'll need a semi trailer to house them! I do crack out a lot of lower grade ones.

Scott, wth all the W600's you own, do you happen to have a Cobb? That seems to be one of the toughest and most expensive HOFer's.

Unbelievable feat by the way!

Huge pickup, yet and a postage stamp sized picture.

Fantastic image on that one, Scott! Congratulations on a big score of an impossibly rare HOFer!

Default Signed rookies

Most of these came last month late, but just picked up Winfield. This went from one or two random pickups, to a new interest pretty fast.. all inspired by drooling over HOF Auto Rookies' collection. Kind of fun to mix it up with some postwar after being totally fixated on prewar.

Well, I admit that I asked him for a backscan of that same card, and he provided it promptly. I then noticed that his email said 'Joey Farino', so I told him that based on his past behavior, I was no longer interested.

I bought a nice T202 Cobb from him without issue... then read all the posts after the deal.

Default 1933 Sport Kings Cobb #1

I've been lucky enough to receive this beauty as a birthday gift from one of my fellow OBC colleagues. Its only the second vintage Cobb to be added to my collection.

He and his alternate id's, egos whatever, have been banned from this board. He went ballistic when I asked for him to prove who he was....In his defense I said he was good to go but then got a lot more info that made me question it. I explained it all to him. If he is on this board under any ID I would like to know. If I find out folks are dealing with him on this board, and not saying anything, then it will be dealt with. As far as anyone dealing with him anywhere else, makes no difference to me. I just try to keep our BST as safe as possible for everyone here. At this point, I don't think his personality, from what I have experienced, is a good one for our BST.
